How do you route the belt without the pulley there? Just wondering.

Loose chains can take material off the timing cover. If you have a ton of metal it could be from that, as well as break in filings.

Could take the whole assembly out and try a press.

I use my aeroforce wide band kit to log on my sct software. The gauge doesn't have a output but the wide bands module does. I just tapped that signal wire.
