Contemplating FI 4.6 into '12 V6 car - looking for input as to what ECU to use

Pro - your car will be more ready for the salvage yard than ever before. Con - Everyone will think you're gay (of course this could be a pro, too, depending on how you lean).

Contemplating FI 4.6 into '12 V6 car - looking for input as to what ECU to use

The 3.7 won't hold together much over 500hp, and most procharged ones only go to 475. People are gonna claim that the 3.7 will be fine over 500hp, but you have to put so much work into it to make it hold together that makes it would be just as expensive as swapping to a coyote. A properly...

Contemplating FI 4.6 into '12 V6 car - looking for input as to what ECU to use

You can probably get a service manual from Ford. That would be your best bet. https://www.faxonautoliterature.com/2012-Ford-Mustang-Wiring-Diagram-Manual-Original-P27576.aspx

Contemplating FI 4.6 into '12 V6 car - looking for input as to what ECU to use

Putting a 4.6 into a 2011 or newer is kinda stupid. If you're gonna go backwards like that, do what I did, and go WAY back - put a Windsor in the car. Actually, the rear end in a 2012 v6 uses 31-spline axles, and the rear brakes are the same as the GT. As for the front brakes, upgrading to GT...

Add Circuit to Exterior Fuse Box

I'm adding an intercooler to my 2012. My car was originally a V6, and as such, the relay and fuse used for the GT500 intercooler pump are missing from the fuse box. Instead of adding an aftermarket relay, I want to use the fuse box to contain the relay #42 and fuse #14 for the new pump...

Fitting a 460 BBF and C-6 trans into an s197....the "lower buck" way

I recommend that you use a cowl hood. If that motor bounces around for any reason, you're gonna end up with dimples in the stock hood. It would also allow you to use a taller filter element (more air is a "good thing" (TM). :)

    2011-14 Battery Tray

I need a battery tray for a 2011-14 Mustang - they should all be the same, regardless of what version we're talking about (V6, GT, Boss, etc). It would be helpful if you were located somewhere near san antonio, but I'll do shipping if necessary.

    Man Without a Country?

Added an autometer monster tach without drilling holes in the dash. Here's a pic with the hood:

Coyote with a carb and a turbo...why? Why not.

You really need to make an intake that accepts a 671 blower... :)

    Daily driver and show car?

Voted is a people's choice thing where other participants (and sometimes spectators) vot for their favorites. Sometimes it's based on category, sometimes ist's just a general popular pick, and they award trophies to the people that get the most votes. Judged is when they have one to three...

What have you done to your mustang today?

Installed an Autometer Monster Tach in my 2012 without drilling any holes in the dash panels or dash pad. It was kind of a pain in the butt because you kinda have to partially mount the console panel, and then fish the tach wires through the mount, attach the tach to the mount, and then push the...

    Steeda Front Coilover struts

I'm currently running DUB springs and Koni Strt struts. When I motorswapped my V6 to a 351w, they still did the job (albeit making the car a little lower in the front, but it was still okay because the motor weights about the same as a Coyote). When I added the blower to my car, the additional...

    Spring Rates?

First, I recognize that this is an ancient thread, but... I currently have dub springs (Eibach pro kit?) on my car. They were fine when the car was a V6, and even after swapping in a 351 Windsor (thanks to BMR for the k-member!), however, I recently added a 671 blower to the car, and now the...

    Man Without a Country?

I replace the OEM radiator with a FRPP part, and got the hood on it. I also installed a Blowfish tow hook to help get it onto the trailer. I tried to add pics, but it keeps telling my I've exceeded my quota.

What have you done to your mustang today?

Installed a Ford Racing radiator (these 105-degree days are killers), and a Blowfish Racing tow hook.
