For what it's worth, I would recommend mesh on the back side. I did something similar when I customized the dash of my Dakota to fit a double din radio. I found a drywall repair kit, and removed the mesh insert. I cut the metal mesh to have 1" on each side of the joint, and epoxy'd the heck...

Looking at the front and rear sway bar kit... will an alignment be required after the front is installed? Will the parts transfer over if I someday upgrade to the 8.8 axle?
