Good point about installing the mini cats just for emissions and then taking them back off following the OBDII test.. As for the "Coyote Control Pack" tune your currently running, I'm not really familiar with the 5.0 Coyote 4V tunes.. Therefore I can only suggest going with an aftermarket tune which has your 02 sensors turned on, if possible

Since the only mod I have on the car is a CAI, AND I was able to flash the VIN and stock tune to my PCM with IDS, I need to have a PATS delete done on the tune. I stopped by my tuner last week and he gave me 2 files based of the stock strategy. I watched him turn PATS off. Yet when i load either one of those, I get no starter and I have a P1602/immobilizer code. So, I'm not sure what is going on there. He seems baffled by it too.

My goal was to have this car run as a stock 2013 with all the emission stuff working. And then start the modding.....lol.....FI

Hopefully your tuning specialist will be able to find out what's going on as to what might be causing the immobilizer code and then able to find a solution in getting everything resolved for you..

if this is a copperhead ecm, flipping the switch in the tuning software will not disable pats. you will need to do that with a ids.

I'm blazing a trail here, and doing this the hard way! Working to get the 2013 and 2007 electronics to play nice together. I think I'm going to end up buying the SCT Pro Racer software so I have total control over this project.

So exactly how does the mini cat simulate the sensor being downstream from the converters if there are no high-flow/full size converters present or none at all for that matter

This substrate in the cat sim is an actual catalyst. The small sample of exhaust that gets through there and read by the sensor will have passed through a "catalytic converter" so to speak.

So just to make certain we're both on the same page.. Your mini cats are the same ones available through Big Daddies Garage, is that correct ? if not, I'd really appreciate it if you could post whoever the manufacturer is and which vendor you purchased these from.. As I don't want some cheap knockoff that won't work as advertised..

Just be aware, that even with the PCM reporting "ready for testing", monitors completed, and CEL off. Without cats on the car, it FAILS the VISUAL inspection, and the inspector should not even try to plug in for the OBD scan. And the station can lose it's license if they put stickers on cars like that. And yes, emission inspections are very closely monitored by the "emission police".
