Has anyone ever gone with Paintless Dent Removal? I have a small fender bender from the previous owner at the very front edge of my driver fender about the size of a hand and was wondering if PDR would be an effective way of dealing with it?

I already got a quote from a big retail body chain for $600 which seems pretty steep considering its size and have been considering just hiring a mobile PDR guy instead.

I've used them several times and have been very satisfied with the outcome.
I was skeptical the first time I went and very surprised at how well they can work their magic to remove dents/dings/etc. Locally, it's roughly $125 for dents/dings that can be covered by a half-dollar and goes up/down cost wise based on the size/extent of the dent/ding.

Thanks, makes me feel a bit more confident going into it. Just worried about the cost because the dent is probably closer to a dollar bill size. Also, I know that PDR is supposed to preserve the paint but the dent actually had some small spots where the paint chipped off, do you think touch up paint after getting the dents fixed would be hold up decently?
Not too concerned with show room quality, just want the dent gone because it actually prevents my headlight from sitting correctly and I have it half bolted and half zip tied in place right now.

Some PDR shops won't touch it if the paint is damaged and will refer you to a body shop. Check with a local PDR shop to get their opinion on the dent.

It all depends on the size/damage...best to have a PDR shop take a looksee.

Last spring some ass-tard hit my son's car door with theirs and left a pretty deep/bad ding (qtr-size). Then in June Mother Nature decided to pelt his car w/golf-ball size hail stones. Had a traveling PDR affiliate do the fix (hail & door ding). They did a great job, but it's not 100% flawless (door ding). If you look close, you can see some ripples in the clearcoat. At least it looks much better and not as visible + my son's happy. Cheers!

Maybe find a fender at a local pull a part that is the same color?

Yes. I had someone shove a shopping cart into my front fender. Four dents that lined up with the corners of the shopping cart. Cost me $250 to remove them and it looked fantastic. I could see the smallest of dents because I knew where to look but I'd say he removed about 98% of what was there. Would totally do it again if the need arose.

PDR is a great option as long as the guy is good. I have seen some guys do it and not have positive results. Post a picture of the damage. the most important things to remember are: Make sure it is not on a crease/body line and also make sure the paint is not cracked.

Thanks for the help guys! Starting to sound like I may have to replace one fender because the paint is scraped and the edge of the fender is bent inwards and get PDR on the other other little nicks I have around the car.

Looking again, the scrapes aren’t as bad as I remember, they’re very insignificant but just the positioning of the dent and the size is my main concern. From far away its hardly visible which gives me some comfort and is why I’ve taken my time deciding on the best route to take.

i am a bodyman with over 30 years experience.
looking at the pics a paintless guy won't waste his time with that fender.
not only is it dented on the front edge body line. it's dented on the top wheel opening body line. it's also buckled in the middle of the wheel arch in as seen in the second pic.
i wouldn't be surprised to find out the headlamp is damaged also.
in my opinion getting the damage repaired for $600 is probably a pretty good deal. i don't work on fords so i don't know parts costs.
if i were repairing the car i would just replace the fender, probably what the $600 estimate is written for. the good news is the car is black so color match should be pretty good.
