Hi there, I recently picked up all the items required to start a coyote swap, and I was wondering if I could get any help regarding making my own "control pack" from the ECU and harnesses that I got from a 2014 Mustang GT.

Motor
2014 Mustang GT Engine w/ accessories
MT-82 Transmission w/ OEM clutch, flywheel

I need help with pinning the GTs harness to my own V6 harnesses, how does it work?

I already purchased the following, all lift out parts from parted 2nd Gen S197s.

- 2014 Mustang GT ECU
- 2011 Mustang OEM Manual Transmission Battery Wiring Harness
- 2011 Mustang Front Body Chassis Harness w/ Fuse Box
- 2011 Mustang GT Engine Wiring Harness for MT82 Manual

Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to this and diving into it head on.

Opt 1. With the parts you got, the easiest thing to do is get the Ford Coyote Control Pack tune flashed to your PCM. That is what my tuner did for me on my 2013 PCM. He uses SCT. I've also contacted Diablosport before I started my swap. They also have access to the Control pack tune.
The only other issues this presents is: a, the control pack tune is NOT emission compliant, b: you will not have cruise control, CC is not supported by the control pack tune.

Opt 2. Send your ECU to someone to reflash it for No PATS.

Opt 3. Install an instrument cluster from same year as PCM. That way you have functional PATS. (any 11-14 cluster "should" work, but.... I don't know) I do have a 2013 cluster I may end up installing so I can run a modified stock tune to get cruise to work.

I smell a product opportunity here. Build a PATS module for these swaps. I don't have the skills/knowledge to build a box like that from scratch. :(

Ok, right now I ordered a 2014 Mustang Instrument Cluster, hopefully it all goes to plan. I'm still waiting in on a lot of parts to enter. Thanks guys!

You will likely need to edit the "as-built" data in the cluster to turn off some warning lights.

I started the process of installing my 2013 cluster, and verified that the gauges will work. I had to turn off the ABS and TC lights as my car does not have ABS. (I guess you could just remove the LEDs from the board) That is as far as I got. I still need to get the fuel guage working, this involves 4 circuits I need to run from the SJB. And I also need to run the PATS tx and rx circuits to the cluster. Once that is done, I should be able to program my keys to the PATS system. I'm not sure what I will do about the bezel over the gauges yet. I will cross that bridge when I have PATS working.

I actually might try something stupid if it still won't read. I found a 2011 Mustang Dashboard wiring harnesses, the entire thing, and maybe could make it hook up to the 05-09 dashboards, a lot of wires might be obsolete, but I guess there's no harm trying. Apparently from another forum, I read that the fuel gauge won't read for 05-09 fuel sending units due to a resistance flip on the 2010+ fuel sensors, might need to investigate more into this.

Also, someone noted that you have to use the clear plastic lenses from the 05-09 clusters and replace it on the newer cluster, using tape or glue.

On the fuel gauge, I read the same thing, and the gauge will read backwards Full=Empty. And the fix was just to use the 2010 & up fuel level sender.

On the bezel, I had the same thought of using the lens from the 05-09 cluster. It is doable but will take some fabricating. But this will leave the hole for the trip reset button, and I think that would bug me. lol Which reminds me, the select/reset button is needed if I want to use the 2013 cluster. This is the switch on the left side of the 12v power tap above the radio. I already pulled the "dummy" switch, and the wires are there.

My other thought was to trim the black/chrome plastic trim to fit the 2013 cluster with it's lens. If I get my current tune to complete the emissions monitors, I may just stop there and give up having cruise control.

What about your other warning lights? I'll try to look for the 2010 fuel sender and replace it, as I'm going with an Aeromotive 1000 return-style fuel system. I do have a 2014 Steering Wheel with the 5-way D-pad on the left, did yours work? As for the hole, I think it would be a worth-while sacrifice, considering the rest of the clean look, maybe fill it with clear resin and sand to the same level? My cluster isn't here yet and I'm still working on my coyote swap.

I have no other warning lights. Which ones are you referring to?

I never touched the steering wheel, it is the stock 07 wheel. All the buttons work as they should as I view live data from the PCM (on/off, resume, set, etc) There are no other buttons on mine, just cruise stuff.

I'm running the fuel system "as-is" from the V6, returnless. I installed the engine, wired it to the 07 harness (the C175B 70 pin PCM connector) and flashed it with the SCT tuner with the tune my buddy loaded to it (he is an SCT dealer). Turned the key and it fired the first time without any issues. I literally only worked under the hood and under the dash wiring. I only used the coyote engine and battery harnesses for a 2013 GT. The rest is the 07 wiring harness.

Then, after driving the car for several thousand miles, I come to find out he gave me the Coyote control pack tune.(does not have PATS or cruise control in it) Ford says you MUST use a return style fuel system with the control pack, yet, it runs the stock fuel pump just fine. Ford also told me that the control pack tune does not have emission monitors. Currently I have 5 of 8 monitors completing after my tuner enabled them. The last 3 still need to be enabled, but they ARE THERE in the control pack tune. (catalyst, rear O2 heater, and rear O2 monitor) The monitors that are completing now, did not run until I flashed my 2007 VIN into the 2013 PCM.

Oh crap, that means I might have to change mine, because mine is the 2014 LCD Gauge Cluster, and I read a lot about it from another thread and it seemed super difficult, I might switch it off to a different gauge cluster. I do have a lot of the harnesses, but I'll need to see once they arrive.

Does anyone know where I can find a table-like pin-out for the 2007 Mustang 50-pin body harness to the 2014 Mustang 70-pin body harness pin for the ECU?

I could not find one. I used the 2007 "engine controls wiring diagrams 4.0L" and the 2013 "engine controls wiring diagrams 5.0" from the ford shop manual. Roughly a dozen sheets each, printed them out and laid them out on the trunk lid.

At first it was daunting, but a few hours into it, it all started to make sense.
