I own the sct bdx. my tuner has informed me that there is a issue when datalogging using the BDX.

its only the BDX he says. I am really annoyed with this. I can load a tune no issue but it failes to load parts of the files needed when he ask for a datalog. it is known issue . he says every BDX does it but not the older tuners . so now i am stuck trying to find a locked x3 x4 or just a used x4 unless Steeda is going to step up which I doubt.

not just complaining.. I need to know what others did if they have the BDX or if they got any help from SCT or the vendor that sold them the tuner.

its a problem and nobody should have had to pay $400 for a half working tuner.

I can't tell the difference between the x4 and the BDX, no one knew when I asked either. The fact that American Muscle sells them without Bama tunes when they will sell the X4 with their tunes was enough for me to avoid it.

I spent nearly an hour online datalogged in with SCT and they couldnt figure it out. then they told me it would be handed over to engineering but it would take 2 weeks to hear back.

I call BS. I told Steeda as well, who sold me the BDX . SCT already knows about the problem from my tuner trying to deal with them about it . he told me they didnt offer any help really to resolve it...I take that as a "We dont care" from SCT point.

Last reply from Steeda was " let me see what my management team is telling customers " .....customers ......? leds me to also believe I am not the first to have an issue.

I believe that I should be offered an exchange for an x4 and that SCT should take all of these back and fix the issue.

that would be the right thing to do.

^ Appreciate the 411 here. Assuming this isn't a one time device issue, I am glad I have stuck with my X3. I was thinking of upgrading to the BDX with the more stream lined datalogging cloud feature but will stick to using my laptop with livelink via the X3 as a teather.

I looked at the X4 but it won't datalog more than 20 points as does the X3 if a person chooses to make setup the unit to custom log on the handheld over using a laptop. My tuner seeks data from 23 items when i datalog so I can't log simply through the handheld.

You should still be able to download the 'livelink II' to a laptop and datalog via the BDX device that way assuming they did not disable that capability. It's not difficult just a little cumbersome compared to using the programmer direct. I prefer the laptop method because it saves everything to the laptop and is ready for direct viewing in either live link or an excel spread sheet. Plenty more can be done through livelink as well.

Well this is good to know. I haven't heard of these issues and was considering replacing my lost SCT x4 with the BDX. I wonder if all tuners are having this issue?

Just to clarify, this also occurs when you attempt to use a laptop and Livelink?

yes this occurs when using livelink and SCT cant figure it out.

it has to do with the files having a Capital letter in the beginning of the file. it wont load them. you might have 23 files and it will only load up the ones with lower case letters . they tried to work around it for near an hour.

Steeda has offered to trade me my BDX for a X4 that works.

Lito has told me it does the same thing on ALL BDX tuners . Only BDX and the REV X (bama) all others seem to work fine.

Steeda has stepped up and took care of it.

but anyone else with a BDX you need to try to datalog with a compputer and see what happens.

you will get a "failure to load"

Thanks. I literally was going to replace my X4 in a month or so with that. I don't need it. I just want to be able to load up my 87 tune as we have had some instances where 93 has been sold out. I also want to be able to data log in the future. The ole Bullitt is starting to get up there mileage wise so being able to read codes is a plus too.
