I installed comp cams and phaser limiters and then uploaded the bama tune. I have a cai and x pipe/ axle back, now the car runs like complete crap, absolutely no power, runs rough and is jumpy at low speeds and can’t idle at one rpm. Is this the tune? Or do I need to take it to a real shop for a dyno tune?

What part number cam and have you voiced these concerns to Bama and asked for a tune revision? A dyno tune will not address drivability.
Post a video of the car acting up as you see it.

Not sure the part number right now, I know it’s the mutha thumbrs, but it’s just not drivability it literally has no power and doesn’t wanna rev above 4K when speeding up. Also in general the car sounds weird when driving also.

The car will not go to redline?
Did you have any other mods done at that time?

It will but very slow, like before the cams you can downshift into 3rd around at 65-70 floor it and take off. Now you do that and it doesn’t even wanna speed up, like it has no power at all.
And just the cams and limiters

Sounds like you need a tune revision if it has no power. The idle will hunt a bit with those cams, I have them too. I would contact Bama and let them know what you are experiencing.

Okay thanks for the help, did the cams make your car get way louder and more raspy, and when you rev or just drive the tone and whole exhaust note just sounds way different?

The cams made the car louder through the entire RPM range, even with stock mufflers. Completely different sounding engine now, to me it is much better sounding.

I had hot rod cams with Bama tune and the tune was way off, it would sputter, like it had a bad o2 sensor. Even a revision didn't help. Personally I think once you get into modding with cams and beyond you need a dyno tune

BAMA tunes are known to be hit and miss; not like the old days when Doug Studdard did the tunes. Go to Brenspeed instead.

I put in brenspeed Detroit rocker blower grind cams, and it ran dann near perfect without any change in the existing tune. I think you're a tooth off.

You are correct, I marked the spots but I guess I was rushing trying to get it done and it was late and it was way off. So now I have to wait to get the new cam bolt and a rocker and keepers since it busted a rocker in the process.. ‍♂️♂️♂️

I was just going to say this.

I at first slipped one tooth off and car was rough. No power didn't want to rev but idled fine just sounded a little off. Starting the car was hard also. Just re timed and was good as new.

Glad you got it. Anytime after a cam install if running really bad like that with no power and wont rev up in rpm 99% a tooth or more off.

What caused the rocker to break? You don't see any damage to other rockers etc?

Is there enough piston to valve clearance in these engines that the cams can be installed a tooth off without hitting?

Take it to Brenspeed in Texas, just below Ft Worth in Cedar Hill, 972-637-4435, they have a dyno there and if it's a Mustang Cliff can fix it, I have taken my 05 GT down there 4-5 times and it's got there cams, headers, dyno tune and I have never had any problems with it. Where in Oklahoma are ya, I'm in Wichita Falls

Well the phasers can retard the cam timing 60 degrees iirc, which is way more than one tooth at least in that direction. I believe this is why the larger camshafts call for limiters. One tooth advanced IDK, I am sure it would depend on the cams and piston design.
