    Rotary Polisher Talk

If the most aggressive you use is M105, why not just use the DA and a more aggressive compound? The DA will get just about anything out. I detail for a living and use a rotary once in a blue moon on a car and its usually because someone washed it with a brillo pad or something (yes, it does...

A/C only blows on speed 1

I had this issue before...turns out I forgot to plug the switch back in when i had the dash apart. This time, I know I put the dash back together right and it will only blow on speed 1. Is this most likely a blower motor? Any suggestions on what to check?

The latest and greatest, Ceramic Coating

yes and no...its applied in a 4 step process (6 with the pre cleaners) and goes on similar to a wax, but is difficult to buff off completely until the final step (buff off 70-80% the prior 3 steps). It's not sprayed on like a traditional clear

The latest and greatest, Ceramic Coating

Ceramic coatings are quickly becoming a thing of the past. I've mentioned on here before the Nanohide coating. I started installing for them a little over a year ago, and my Mustang was the second car I ever did. I've since done over 30 cars. I just got done yesterday doing a collection for...

Why does my rear end kick out under accel/coasting???

I admittedly jumped the gun on bashing BMR. I didn't mean to come off that way. I was more speaking to the design itself, which they are in fact the OLD BMRs, but BMR none the less. That being said, they have corrected the design as mentioned. Nothing against BMR. I have their LCAs on my...

Why does my rear end kick out under accel/coasting???

Yea, fortunately my wife has a fast car herself, so she hauled ass to pick me up and we got her to the airport. Actually picked her up right on time. Skwerl: I had the car on jacks and searched over it thoroughly with my buddy, who is a mechanic, while we installed my aluminum driveshaft and...

Why does my rear end kick out under accel/coasting???

You almost had it! This morning, while leaving to pick up a friend to take to the airport, I stopped to get fuel. As I'm driving away, I hear a "pop" come from under the car. All the sudden, I hear a slight rattle, and then the car felt as if it were on ice skates! Turns out I SNAPPED the...

Why does my rear end kick out under accel/coasting???

Hey folks, So like the title suggests, my car is acting a little funny. The rear end kicks one way when I give it gas and then kicks the other way when I let off the throttle. it's noticeable enough that my passenger felt it the other day. Not sure if its suspension or what. I have...

    Lets talk glass

How do you get rid of the smell? that would be the only problem i see with this. Vinegar is a phenomenal cleaner but i hate the smell and would never wish that on any of my customers!

    Lets talk glass

Doesn't even need to be that strong. I eyeball so I would say I probably go about 1:8 - 1:10. Won't hurt tint since theres no ammonia

    Carpet/Cloth Seats and Engine Detailing

If you're doing it and getting paid, get the Mytee Lite 8050. Thing is PHENOMENAL. I prep the spots with Meguiars Protein Stain remover mixed with a light citrus degreaser, then I let the carpet soak a minute with the hot water from Mytee Lite and scrub it in with a medium bristle brush. Then...

What do you think of my detailing plan?

By the way, a glaze is pointless unless you're doing a car show or something. Most glazes will wash off with the next cleaning revealing imperfections you may have missed by not using a true polish and wax.

What do you think of my detailing plan?

The 7424 is plenty enough power for a beginner. I use orange pads with HD Speed or HD's pure polish to finish. Never used Meguiars Ultimate, but I will swear by this combo for almost any paint correction: HD Zero or Cut w/ yellow pad (if compounding necessary) HD Adapt with orange pad HD...

New car. what's best to protect and make it pop?

For protection: Nanohide hands down. 7 years protection, scratch resistant and self-healing, UV protection, chemical protection. I haven't washed my car in 4 weeks and it stills looks like it did after I washed it. For shine and protection: I like Wolfgangs Deep Gloss 2.0. Great protection...

    Lets talk glass

Best thing for class: A waffle weave microfiber. Distilled water and rubbing alcohol. Spray it on and wipe the glass down. You have to use some oomph to clean it initially. Fold the towel to a clean side and spray it again, wipe it again with less pressure. Even if it dries, distilled...

    M&H Racemasters 275/45/18 Brand New

I've had these tires for about two years now sitting in my climate controlled garage on top of my 18" bullitt replicas. Now that I have 20's and the car is a garage queen, I am going to be replacing with 20" DRs instead of switching over for track use to the 18s. They are M&H Racemasters...

Need to get back into detailing

Spend the $100 and get a DA! HD Speed with a green or orange pad (depending on severity of the light swirls) on speed 5-6 yields awesome results! Yes, HD Speed is worth the investment, to me. I use it on 90% of the cars that we do and follow it up with CG Butter Wax, DuraSeal, or WG's Deep...

    Waterless Wash and Rinse Recommendations

It is not simple. 2 cleaner steps to strip the cars paint completely and then 4 coating steps. The first 3 are difficult to remove (but dont have to be removed completely). The final step leaves the awesome shine and buffs off easily taking the rest of the residue with it. It is only being...

Need to get back into detailing

HD Polish from 3D? I love their products. HD Adapt and HD Speed are my goto for a majority of my detailing customers that aren't paying for my higher end detail jobs. I just used HD Polish on my wife's Audi S5 the other day actually in order to prep it for the coating it got. Phenomenal...

    Waterless Wash and Rinse Recommendations

Just do a NanoHide coating and then you can wash your car with whatever you want for the next 7 years! I did it to my mustang and I wipe the car down with generic Meguiars detail spray and a microfiber, no matter how dirty it gets. Any swirls you put into the Nanohide coat will repair...

How NOT to "detail" your car.

Takes me 15-20 minutes to wash/dry my mustang conventional. And thats including moving my detailing, pulling the Mustang out of the garage, setting everything up, and thoroughly drying using only the leaf blower. Gotta get them skills up brah lol
