    2007 V6 S197 vs a SN95 GT (02-04) for HPDE

Interested to see what direction you go. I currently own an '05 GT. The decision has been made to put together a track car. The plan at the moment is to just have a safe, fun track car. I'm just debating on having fun w/ the Stang or picking up a '99 Miata and going with that. Of course, the...

First full track day - front end push!

For my first TNIA event the plan is to run the 275/40/18 tires and 18x10 SVE Drifts I currently have on the car. Go have fun with it. As the addiction sets in and you start doing more events you'll end up going with a different wheel and tire combo. Good brakes and fluids, safe car, be smooth...

    Radio Delete 05-09

I actually did exactly what Jeremy mentioned using abs plastic in my RX-7 racecar. Made the cardboard template and then transferred that to the plastic. Then drill the holes you need. Also, I spray painted the side facing into the hole black. That left the side facing the interior black and smooth.

    18's vs 19's for street/track

I'm currently running 18x10 SVE Drifts at all for corners. I haven't upgraded the brakes yet but these will clear the Brembo brakes. This is going to be my dual-duty street/track car. I know there are lighter options out there as well. I would recommend going to a square setup. But really it...

The PIC WHORE CLUB!!! Knock before you Enter!!!

FnFast (Sal), I think/hope he was referring to 101Blur being a flake about not responding. I've got your back on that b/c anytime I've reached out you've responded and always helped me out. I tried multiple times to buy the same spoiler but never hear back so I've decided to move on. On another...

    Some Prototype Caster/Camber Action

This is GREAT news! I'm actually looking at picking up the BMR SP065 springs and adjustable panhard bar for my '05 GT very soon. Would love to score the C/C plate as well.

    Any hillclimb people here?

Mark, here's some advice to help you out. 1) for the in-car video, how about data showing G's, mph, and rpm. 2) feel free to share all the videos you want, and 3) more outside video. Ok, so those are things for me. Seriously, that's some awesome driving. I only ask about the other things because...

    Any hillclimb people here?

I used to race motorcycles (WERA) and do most of my track days at on Summit Main. I still call it home. Never been on Jefferson or Shenandoah.

    My 08 Track Car

Great job on the car. Everything flows together visually. I'm in the same boat as TGR96 but hope to move in same direction in the near future. Minus the shifter issue, how did everything else perform? How was the setup? Don't be afraid to share vids and pics. :)

    Any hillclimb people here?

Sorry, but they are NOT race fans and your car would scare the shyte outta them. Mark, I saw you mention Strano Parts in your sig. I'll have to hit up Sam. He helped me setup my SCCA C Stock RX-7 back in the day.

    Any hillclimb people here?

I bought a 1980 Mazda RX-7 fully prepped (cage, suspension, etc...) for the sole purpose of hill climbs and time trials. I got a deal on it and sold it before I could race it. Anyway... I was watching the videos Mark posted and my wife looked at me and asked what it would take to get the...

    1Free197's build/question thread

Well smart azz... :roflsquared: Years ago I had a '90 Mazda RX-7 that I built into an SCCA ITS car. So when I bought this in my head I thought why not follow the Spec Iron rules and purchase parts based on the class spec. Then reality hit and I knew I wasn't going to turn this into a...

    1Free197's build/question thread

Norm, as always, gives great advice. Keep us posted on your build/upgrade. Since purchasing my '05 GT, my plan was to build a track day toy yet keep it street legal for the occasional daily drive. My thought was to build the car semi-following the NASA Spec Iron rules. With that being said...

    Chris' GT Build

Great project and the car looks great! Be sure to post pics of everything installed. I'm thinking of doing the same install on my '05 and building it into a track day ride. Since I don't use the back seat either i'm thinking of doing a rear seat delete type of setup. Are you staying with the...

Build thread: Jack of all trades

Wow! Thanks for all the great info. Granted a nice even drop all the way around looks great but I want to eventually have the car setup for performance first and appearance second

Build thread: Jack of all trades

Thanks for bringing up the rake subject. I was curious if there was a reason for the rake and also why a long of manufacturers sell springs with an even drop (currently looking at BMRs) leaving the rake in the car. i'm going to set the car up for autocross and track days.

    Koni yellows pair best with...

Sorry to sidetrack, but is there an advantage to having the rake in the Mustang? Granted, I'm about to do the suspension on my '05 GT and have narrowed it down to the BMRs but was curious why most manufacturers go with an even drop (1" all the way around, for example) as opposed to leveling the...

    CDC Chin Spoiler Install

This weekend I finally got my CDC chin spoiler installed. Install was smooth and easy and it definitely adds some aggression to the look of the front end. I also decided to Plati-Dip the Pony on the grill to get an idea and actually like the blacked out look of the grill. And now I'm ready to...
