Doesn’t work that way at all on the 2 2014 GT’s & 2 SCTX4’s I’ve owned. There must be some way that it can be unlocked in the tune, or perhaps it’s firmware version differences, or PCM models. I’m glad it works for you that way, I wish mine did. SCT told me it wasn’t possible, and in my case...

You can add the new tune to the SCT device with no other changes, but you MUST return to stock, before you can load the new tune to the car. It won’t work any other way.

You might be able to find an alternate/deeper cover that will accommodate you, but it would probably take trial/error.

Swap the injector to another cylinder just for the heck of it. If no change, try the coil next.

I've had no problems with mine in the snow. It's all about the tires & the driver. Clear the windows, warm the interior, and go (at least in my case).
