    Front End Upgrades

Hi Norm, Thanks for the reply. So i'm guessing that you like the FRPP arms? Did you notice a big difference? I'm thinking that maybe between the FRPP control arms and griggs steering shaft I could get some nice front end improvements. Or maybe the FRPP arms with the stiffer maximum bushings...

    Front End Upgrades

Hi Norm, thanks for the reply. I was wondering if someone would ask me to clarify on my alignment....Sadly I lost the spec sheet, but I want to say that it is around -1.5 camber, I can't remember the toe. My car is lowered 1 inch in front. I told the alignment guy (Mike Maier) to give me an...

    Front End Upgrades

I just got done making the rear end feel much better, and I am at a point where I am happy with the rear end of my car (2008 Bullitt). Now I am wondering how to improve the front. I have maximum CC plates, FRPP shocks and struts and run a street friendly alignment. My car has 153k on it, so...

Gauges....To Trust or Not To Trust

Hello Everyone, I took my 08' Bullitt to Big Willow last month, and had an enjoyable experience. One question I had, and nobody seems to know exactly, is how accurate the gauges are. Specifically, the coolant temperature gauge. How accurate is it? If my car is at operating temp, the gauge is...

    Seats and Oil

That was my thought exactly, that's why I opted to get some cheaper ones just for this weekend. It seems like spending a bunch of $$$ on fancy new stuff only to wear it out 30% in one weekend is a bit silly to me? Once this track event is over I will re-do the system front to back with new pads...

    Seats and Oil

What exactly do you mean by "transfer the sensor?" And I have heard that the front airbags will not work if the position sensor is not installed correctly. And I actually just ordered some stop tech pads because I've hard bad things about the Hawk pads for our cars. At this point, I can't...

    Seats and Oil

Hello everyone, Havn't posted in a while but had some questions for you. I am going to my first ever track event in a couple weeks and have some questions. Specifically, about aftermarket seats and oil capacity. I will start off with oil capacity. My car is a 3v 4.6. Ford states 6 quarts. Is...

    Kumho Ecsta PS91

Thanks for the reply! Tire rack currently has a $100 mail in rebate for the PS91'S, so I am definitely going to go with them. I've been reading up on if it will be worth it to go bigger (like 265+) for width on my 8.5 inch wheel. Leaning more towards 255/35/18 for the shorter sidewall though.

    Kumho Ecsta PS91

How long do those tires usually last for you and what kind of driving do you do? I'd really like to try and get around 10k miles with spirited driving and auto-x. Not sure if this is a bit too optimistic though...

    Singin' those Different(ial) Blues

    Singin' those Different(ial) Blues

I can attest to this. On my 2001 Bullitt, I had the track-lok rebuilt with carbon disks and they were gone after about 10 autocross runs. I was only on 300 treadware tires too. I heard the stickier the tire, the quicker they ware out. I will look into the diffs you guys I have posted. I...

    Singin' those Different(ial) Blues

Hello everyone, Just went to a 5th autocross in my somewhat new to me 2008 Bullitt. The car did well. But.....there's always a but BAD one wheel peel. My car has a fresh trac-lok too. I looked into the matter and it seems if you autocross frequently, a different type of differential is...

    Kumho Ecsta PS91

Has anyone tried these tires? Camaro guys and M3 owners seem to like them as a cheaper alternative to the MPSS. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=Ecsta+PS91 Curious to see if anyone has tried them/heard things about them. I Autocross once a month and do...

    First Autocross in an S197

Hello everyone, It's been a very long time since I've gone on here. Sorry about that. Hopefully you missed me???? Maybe??? Lol jk. Anyways. I was able to pick up a used Ford Racing Handling Pack (K springs, ford tuned shocks+struts, rear sway bar, etc.) for the car in october .I know this...

    First Autocross in an S197

That's some good info with the CC plates. Thank you. Are the BMR units that much better? The rear bar is $160 more than the price of the unit Jack from maximum suggested, and I have a hard time believing it's $160 better if that makes any sense. I guess it's more expensive because of the...

    First Autocross in an S197

Hi everyone, Thank you so much for all the help. Thanks to all your great info, I have decided to go with suspension parts first. And low key though, Steve and Kcbrown, you guys were in my head. Like weirdly so. We've got engineers and psychiatrists on this forum! Lol. Any recommendations on...

    First Autocross in an S197

Thank you for all the replies. I am on stock Bullitt special edition wheels. The car currently has brand new 235/45/18 Pirelli P Zero Neros. The fact that they are brand new is why I don't want to change them, but I am worried that if I spend money on suspension and keep these P Zero Nero's on...

    First Autocross in an S197

Thank you all for the replies. I am at a bit of a stalemate here. My tires are totally junk, the more I drive the car, the more frustrated I get with the lack of grip from the front end. So I have decided to go with new tires first. BUT THEN, I realized that the stock Bullitt's are only 8 inch...

    First Autocross in an S197

Hello everyone, Thank you all for the replies, and sorry for my late reply. The more I drive the car, the more I realize how awful these tires are... I really WANTED them to work, but now I think I have to change them. What tires do you recommend for a car that gets autocrossed once a month...

    First Autocross in an S197

Thank you all for your replies. The car is totally stock suspension, but it is a BULLITT, so it is different shocks and springs compared to a GT. At this point in time, I don't mind having the car ride worse. It's too plush as is. So don't consider ride quality as a factor in giving me...

    First Autocross in an S197

Thanks for the reply. I am not running a staggered setup. 235/40/18 at each corner. I had a feeling I would need to get better tires first, but I just thought that maybe if I got better suspension, I could use the current tire more effectively? Is this silly to think that? And I have also heard...

    First Autocross in an S197

Hello everyone, This is my first post here. I'm so happy that I have found a legitimate suspension forum for our cars. I finally feel at home! A little bit of backround on me: So I have been autocrossing and open tracking for nearly three years. I have autocrossed many different kinds of...
