    Racing Seats: Educate me

I think the new BOSS recaro seats would be a perfect choice. And they might keep the airbags too. No prices or release date on these as of yet.

    Car doesn't feel planted

It certainly sounds like the 'street' tires are the main culprit. With an instructor at the wheel driving 'hard' on a familiar track those Invo's will get greasy in only a handfull of laps. You can do it, but you wont be able to push the car hard for more than a few laps before you have to...

    Ford Racing Handling Pack

I'd say listen to Sam now 'cause it'll save you alot of hassle and money down the road. If i were to buy one item only, it would be the Koni dampers.

    Weighed the car last night.

I finally put the PJ on a scale : 3620 with an almost full tank as it sits. I'd like to lose 50-100lbs so the stock heavy seats are a likely candidate as i need more room anyway.

    Weighed the car last night.

So, are you saying in effect that the 07+ mustangs are lighter than the earlier cars?

    Aftermarket steering wheels

Yeah, still no choices out there for a smaller aftermarket wheel that has the stock wheel functions ( Cruise and Airbag).

Post two pics of your car

Wow, there are some really nice track prepped Mustangs here!

    Weighed the car last night.

Wow, i'll bet that gives your brakes a real workout! I hope to weigh my car this weekend to get a base point. I'll be real happy if it comes in at under 3600#'s the way it sits right now.

    What seats are you running?

What do you guys do about the airbag light when you change the seat? Just stare at it or is there a way to properly disable it ?

    Fays Watts link

It'll help in both cases but it certainly will be felt the first time you take a corner at speed. I have a Fays2 watt's link on my '06 and it's pretty silent and totally worth it for the money.

    racing rims and wheel

The nice thing about CCW's is you can get exactly what size/offset you want. I've really been thinking of going with a set, but you end up around $4k with tires all said and done. But, proper wheels 'make' a car and you wont see many S197's running around with a set. My current CT-R wheels...

    2009 vs. 2010

Yeah, i need to figure out how to round that sharp edge on the center console of my '06 to get a bit more leg room/comfort. Be nice if there was a simple rounded replacement piece for the console sides. That center console is the one thing i'd like for my '06.

    2009 vs. 2010

Yeah, this is the one thing that bugs me with my '06. I'm trying to figure out a way to correct this as it would give me more leg room to smooth the edge out like on the 2010's.

S197 tts/aix build start to finsh

Good info on the Hood issues. My hood shakes around alot starting at 80mph so i need to do hood pin's or another hood. It just makes me nervous knowing that the hood could come off at high speed like what happened the first time they ran the FR500 at Daytona. Also, where can you get that...

S197 tts/aix build start to finsh

Just wondering, what were your lap times before you went to the Paxton blower? It's almost hard to imagine that a Mustang could keep close pace with one of those C6Rs. Those are pretty serious looking track cars.

S197 tts/aix build start to finsh

Thanks for the info on the cams. I'm not sure i'll go with cams yet, but nice to know they will 'sniff' ok. I've pretty much got all the bolt ons ( pullies, intake, delete plates) except for headers. I know long tubes are the way to go, but the ol CA smog comes into play there. I still might...

S197 tts/aix build start to finsh

Did you go with the Comp cams NSR before of after the paxton 2200? How does it idle with those cams? I'm likely staying N/A for the time being and taking off weight, so i've been thinking of cams. Only thing i worry about is smog here in CA and i'm not sure if those would pass the sniffer...

    298 vs 302 stroker

Well, thats a bummer. I was just reading an older article in 5.0 Mustangs & FF where they were going through the build of the PJ's 302. Saleens engine expert, Bill Talley, was describing how they picked the forged piston for the PJ 302 so it would have really tight (0.002) cylinder-to-wall...

    298 vs 302 stroker

Chris, are all the PJ 302 mustangs afflicted with piston slap, or was it just that one you dyno'd? I'd like to know as i've been thinking of picking up a PJ and would hate to have issues with modding the engine right from the start.
