the flat stick comes with an oval grommet that goes into the poem boot and mates with the flat stick very very well.
the only difference is cosmetic as the lower parts are identical.

from a gen 1 i would say yes it is a bit more solid and less nvh but damn those gen 1s are beasts...they hold up well..we have a few that have about 125k miles on them and still running strong!!!

we have looked into the 2005-2010 but the issue is placement of the linkage rod output shaft and the driveshaft location. they put in BEHIND the driveshaft so that funky offset arm is required. There just isnt enough room to make it work.

The top arm and the 2 strut arms work just like a tripod. The linkage rod could actually be completely removed and have zero affect on the structural design of the shifter.

i do not but i do believe you can use the stock boot you will need to get one of the base boots or a roush boot. it needs the larger hole opening in the boot not the smaller one like the bullitt uses.

the grommet simply zip ties to the boot. You will need a base type boot with the larger opening. the one with the "thumb style " shift knob.
