As anyone who has tried to adjust the bands on a 5r55s can tell you, there is no room to get a torque wrench on the studs. Here is my solution.
For $8, I purchased an eight point, 5/16”, 1/4” drive socket from EBay. That socket on a 1/4” drive torque wrench is still too long. Using a hand held cut-off wheel, I trimmed both the top and bottom of socket. Along with a 1/16” off of the bottom of the torque wrench stud. Like this
Cut socket next to uncut socket for comparison. Had I taken all off just the bottom of socket, it probably would have not sat deep enough on rounded edges of transmission studs and slip off. It worked great and the bands are now adjusted to spec with no guesswork.
