I went back to the Test and Tune tonight and on the 1st pass went 6.63 @ 108.9 mph w/ 60 ft of 1.53.

Right lane (I was actually #428, but the person in the tower entered it as 488)

The ET was slightly better than the 6.72 from two nights ago, but my 60 ft was not as good (1.53 vs 1.47).
I made some adjustments and made a 2nd pass. It was about an hour later, and the air temp had decreased from low 60s to low 50s. The 60 ft was better, 1.47, but the tires spun all the way down the track. I almost had to abort the run b/c it was so squirrelly. Not to mention, I accidently hit the rev limiter between 2nd and 3rd. 6.66 @ 104.4 mph

Now, I realize that track prep (or lack thereof) and decreasing air temps were probably to blame for the worsening performance as the night went progressed. On my 3rd pass for the night, the 60 ft worsened to 1.64, and I had to abort the run because it was spinning so badly at the top of 1st that it bogged when shifting to 2nd. On the 4th pass, the 60 ft time was a 1.53, but the car again bogged when shifting to 2nd and only ran 6.91.
More than anything, I need more driver mod and to start powershifting. Every time I intend to powershift, but I always find myself letting off the throttle. For you guys that are running slicks, what air pressures are you running? I'm running 28x10.5" slicks and have been running 10.5, but I wonder if paradoxically more pressure may help. Also, I probably need to start going to the track on race nights when they actually prep and re-prep the track.

you get your traction issue sorted out and you will be in the 6.40s, which is also high 9 second territory in the 1/4. My best was a 6.47 @ 107 mph and that same run ended up being a 10.138

That's what I'm thinking. My goal is high 9s in the quarter, and I'd like to get there on a single power adder, but if need be, I have a small nitrous shot on standby. That is, if the stock motor holds out long enough for me to get there, as I'm already pushing it.
