I went to the track for the first time in 2 months since I blew up my diff.
I was running 4.10's and I witched back to 3.55's since I already had them and Iwanted to see how different they would feel both on the street and at the track.

Our track was hosting the NHRA National Open this weekend there weren't many runs to be had today.

As I found out after my first run the learning curve will be steeper than I though.

1st run 16psi tire pressure

5500rpm launch bogged

1.828 60'

7.691 1/8th

11.838 @ 120.338

last run on an 11.75 dial

1.733 60'

7.540 1/8th

11.713 @ 119.812

my best 60' of the day 1.674

Do you think the gear change effected your 60'? Or was it a combination of track prep / weather? I was considering going back to 3.31's when I go up to 16 psi, but I don't want my 60' in increase any.

What was the weather like Peter?

The D/A for the first run was 27'

The D/A for the last run was 287'

It will definitely affect your 60' times.

You will reduce your mechanical advantage by 20%

If your torque will increase 20% with the increased boost you will not increase your 60' times.

Hey i didn't know this product. Just watched the tru-trac. Seems very nice.

If i'm good this is this one :

I will consider it. As it's my second clutch change it start to cost me a lot.
Did you have one ?

Yeah the slick makes me consistent. Slower but consistent. I need to swap from 28" to 26"

Ted toasted his rear end. got a 11.03 with his new pulley.

Ted is running a truetrac. He just put it in 2-3 weeks ago. I think he better go for a Detroit Locker.

That part number is not the correct one. We have 31 spline axles.

This is the correct one.

I was always thinking we get a 28.

So ted seems to found the limitation of the truetrac.

So i just need to buy that an put back my gear on that ?

I think i will go for that. i don't want to change my clutch every 6 month.

Yes the ring gear bolts on to that.

It's still going to cost around 4 hrs labor + the cost of the truetrac.

I also blew out the tru trak within a couple weeks. I have had the locker in there now for a while and lot's of passes without a single issue... I LOVE it.:leghump:

Mark,
Just for clarification I believe that you have a Detroit locker and not the electronic E-locker correct?

The E-LOcker seems cool except for one thing. You must disengage it at 20mph according to the documentation..

I will stick to the detroit truetrac. Hope i can make it for this season.

I will still have to finish my last saturday race on next saturday. On one wheel.. I'm in the last car.

Thanks for your advise
