Bama hand held tuner

Just been. Offered a bama hand held tuner... Doesn't have a tune on it but it's not gona break the bank.

Are they wort it?
My only mods are intake and cat back

Following my miss fortune with the rolling road other day... I'm wondering if the bama will over ride the tune on it, and correct the issues they were having with the tune they bought (unknown where from)

BAMA does not make tuners. That is a SCT tuner with the BAMA name on it. It is "married" to another car it will not work on yours. You need to plug it in to see. Even if it unmarried you will need to buy a tune for it unless it was used on a 3.7 mustang. Make sure it is a X4 and not the X3 if you are going to get it. The X3 may not support your year. The X4 does.
So, as long as it is "unmarried x4", get it.
It may have the so called 'canned' tunes from SCT, and those may not help if one or more of your mods are "tune required".

If you buy it, consider it vessel with which to carry tunes from a tuner of your choice to your vehicle. Do not consider using any tune currently on the tuner because it isn't for your car and won't work anyway. Other than that they are real handy for reading and clearing OBDII codes. You can also read technical info such as the computer code ID which you will need to give to any online tuner if you purchase a custom tune.

A brand new SCT x4 tuner is about $450 new, plus however much your tuner charges for a tune.

X3 handheld works on that model year. I have a 2012 GT and have/use a SCT X3.
