I would a try a 100mm idler pulley, though I am running a 90mm (non metco) and don't have any belt slip with my 2.6. Strange that you are experiencing it. That's what the idler is for!

90mm is fine. I'm using that on my 2.59 pulley from VMP. No belt slip at all. Could be the belt is getting older? I'd get a new belt anyways with the added power. I know I'm looking at getting new belts just to be safe. I'd rather spend a little money now than a lot of money later.
