A group of us are renting Capitol Raceway this Friday. It will be my first time there. Anyone know any decent hotels close by? I'd hate to drive down Friday morning and (knowing my luck) get stuck in traffic.

Thanks!:beerchug2:

Ricer Heaven on test and tune nights... I hate Capital it's an old track not kept up very well..
Go to Cecil next time, better track.(It runs down hill) :)
75/80 in opening up south of PA but For the Best Maryland track go to MIR..

BTW.. You should stay and extra day then and drive down to MIR (30 min from Capital down 301)
for the Get out of the Cold Event, Fantastic event

The guys who set this up only go there when they rent it out, so it is kept to around 10 guys. A few Vipers, GTO's and a Grand National.

I grew up racing Capitol in the 70s.

The track itself is actually kept in fair condition, but the TnT events are, as stated, ricer and crotch-grabbing gangsta wannabes. I wouldn't leave a thing unattended at that track. Ever.

For a track rental, you should be fine, although I'd ask what the rental cost got you in terms of prep. Keep going south on Rt 3 past the track. After several miles and going under the rt 50 access ramps, there is a hotel off to your right in that shopping center complex. Don't recall the name but it looked decent enough the last time I was down that way.
