Yes, you need the mid pipe that matches the headers.

As 01yellercobra noted, you will need the manufacturer specific X or H pipe to match up with the remainder of the exhaust.

Stainless Works headers - Get Stainless Works catted/off road X or H pipe
Kooks Headers - Get Kooks catted/off road X or H pipe
    Etc....

The rest of the exhaust will fit right up to the X or H pipes as long as it's designed for your year/make/model.

Previous owner states that the car has long tubes with stock everything else. Makes no sense.

Na, I recently picked up a mint Competition Orange 2015 with 7600 miles on the clock. Rims, Tires, springs, longtubes, procharger, tinted lights all around for $32,900. :) Made 600 rwhp but still has a 2.5 exhaust. He said the mid x pipe is stock but there isn't a suitcase like I know the V6 has. Thanks for the reply
