ITS OFF THANKS FOR THE HELP! Father in law was staining/painting the new Pergola and had the side door open not realizing that the wind had carried the overspray all over the Hyundai Veloster in the garage. The whole car is covered with black overspray and not sure the best way to get it off without messing the paint up? Any ideas...

first thing i would try is a spot wash then hit it with a decent fine medium clay if it works then get to it on the whole car
You may want to try a fine grade clay first just to see if a less aggressive clay could get it. If it works then stick with that one and then finish out the rest of the car for him to be a nice son in law lol

Did you try to wash it off?

most stains these days are water based

I'd agree that clay will work. I had overspray on my Shelby when I picked it up from the shop once. A couple hours with a clay bar and it was gone.

I'd try a good fine polish as they contain mineral spirits. If its still fresh it should come right off. Make sure the polish is clear coat compatible!

Its been on the car for a good 5 days but it hasn't moved from the same spot since until it gets cleaned! I am going to take it to the car wash and see what I can do there and then clay bar it after and if that doesn't work I can check out a polish then, thanks for the info!

Wash, then Clay Bar, then Polish. Should do the trick just good. Good luck.
