I need those of you that know the NHRA rules to please give me feedback and info.

Gregs fabricator is going to make me a custom cage legal for 8.50's, is not that my car will go that fast but since he welded and fabricated Greg's cage on his race car we want to do one on my car as a project. We have a very good hydraulic tube bender, the only problem is that that particular machine only has dies for pipe 1 1/2 and 1 3/4. most of the cages sold for other body styles by companies like jegs and wolfracecraft use 1 5/8 tubing. We found chromoly on 1 3/4 and i am planing on using that tubing size.

Pleasepost all the info you guys have about the design and the dimensions and rules to help me do it right the first time.

thanks,

ED

My .02, invest in an NHRA rule book, you need to have one in front of you to reference.

And the SFI specs. At a minimum.......NHRA rulebook.

I tried to order one today but the 2008 is not available and the one for 2009 will be available until December.

Please share some info.
