Im trying to decide which direction to go with this Aero Precision stripped lower. Not sure if I want to make a budget built AR or actually use higher quality parts in this build. Im pretty sure ill use fde colored furniture on this one. I'm trying to pick a lpk and order one tonight to start with. I've also thought of upgrading parts on my BCM and using the old stuff on this one

Decided on making this build more of a precision long range build with a 20" barrel. How difficult is building the upper? Im thinking of buying an aero stripped upper to match the aero lower. I want to coat this one burnt bronzs and want the upper and a couple more pieces first so I can coat them all at once. I missed out on the Geissele SSA deal last night but have the ssa-e here I was gonna use on my BCM. Might use it on this new build instead and wait for am SSA for my BCM.

Uppers are easy to build! I prefer to buy from a good barrel manufacturer since they will headspace it to a bolt, it saves me from buying go/no go gauges. I used White Oak Armament on the last one and it was a good looking barrel with fluting up to the gas block. I don't know for sure how it shoots since the guy hasn't put a scope on it but I'm confident that it will be a tack driver.

Would it be better to buy an aero precision upper to match the lower, or buy a different stripped upper?

Im debating on buying another stripped lower and a stripped upper already cerakoted in burnt bronze or titanium direct from Aero Precision. 175 for the combo and my ffl dealer said he wouldn't charge me any fees since he's an aero dealer. Can't decide on the color though. I'm leaning towards the burnt bronze.

Haven't seen it in person but that burnt bronze is a awesome looking color.

I've never seen it in person either but hope it looks even better in person than I've seen in pictures. Going to buy all the furniture once I see how it looks in person when it comea in. Want to see if it'll look better with FDE furniture or keep it black

I think my next "AR" platform build is going to be a .50 Beouwolf

That would be an interesting build. I have wanted a .204 upper for a while but don't know how much I would use it.

Wow, I forgot about this thread! Looks like photobucket screwed it all up too. So, my 1st rifle evolved into something other than initially planned and I never built the 2nd rifle.

I did build it into pistol to convert into an SBR once I finally get around to forming a trust.
