Show Us What You Got!

With an increasing number of Mustang enthusiasts mounting APEX wheels on their vehicles, and wider 18" and 19" Mustang wheels in development, we wanted to create a thread where the community could collectively share photos, fitment information, and any feedback on the wheels in one centralized location. Feel free to just post up pictures, and if you don't mind, please also include the following since many tire sizes are not a direct fitment, and members would like to know the specifics of how to achieve the same fit/look:

  • Wheel Model, Color, Size & Offset
  • Front and Rear Tire sizes, Tire Make & Model
  • Suspension Modifications, Camber Plates or camber bolts
  • Any required alignment settings such as added negative camber
  • Any other required modification (Spacers, Fender Rolling, Trimming etc.)

Let's Kick Things Off!

We will kick things off with Josh's personal track machine from Trinity Autosport. Josh has ran our EC-7 18x10 square fitment for some time now, and has killed off countless sets of 275 and 285 tires at So Cal tracks in the process :headbang: His current setup is listed below:

2015 S550 Mustang GT 5.0 - Performance Pack

  • APEX Wheels: EC-7 in Race Silver
  • Front: 18x10” ET43 EC-7 with 305/35-18 NT01
  • Rear: 18x10” ET43 EC-7 with 305/35-18 NT01
  • Spacers: 15mm up front with extended stud kit (for strut clearance)
  • Suspension: Swift lowering springs
  • Camber: F: -2.5 degrees, R: -1.8 degrees

Great looking set up! I can't believe that's a 35 aspect ratio! That's a lot of tire all around. I suppose that the 15mm spacer up front is to clear the PP Brembos? Or is there interference with the strut body?

Much appreciated! All of our 18" EC-7 Mustang wheels have massive brake clearance, and clear the S550 factory Performance Package Brembo's without any spacers required. They also clear the common S197 GT500 Brembo's as well

With that said, spacers may be used up front for inner strut clearance depending on the suspension type, and tire brand and size used. Many 275 and 285 tires can be a direct fit, while 295 and 305 tires will certainly require spacers. Below is an interior shot of the tire to suspension clearance. This is a 305/35-18 NT01 with 15mm spacers and the S550 is equipped with Ridetech coilovers.

Makes me want to find a puddle and steal the pic idea.

Lol, thank you sir. My marketing associate was a bit weary of my photography skills (and rightfully so) as he could not attend the shoot, but I think they came out alright :smiley-face-popcorn

Looks like a set of 18x10 EC-7 in Race Silver is in my future, good lawd those are beautiful. Reminds me of the BBS wheel without the price tag.

By the way, Sal's car isn't a GT500

Much appreciated gents! Good call @speedboosted, Sal's car always fools me at first glance. :insane:

The EC-7 18x10's are approx. 22 lbs each, and you can find more information here.

We are excited to have the 18x10” ET43 EC-7 wheels for Mustang BACK IN STOCK! A fellow enthusiast Kevin shared some photos of his White S197 Mustang 5.0 with his newly mounted EC-7’s. Kevin replaced his 20” wheels for this lightweight track setup and next on his list is to slightly raise the ride height.

  • APEX Wheels: 18x10” ET43 EC-7 in Anthracite (square)
  • Tires: 285/35/18 Toyo T1 Sport Tires
  • Suspension: ST XTA Coilovers, Cortex Watts Link & Whiteline Front Sway/Lower Control Arms
  • Brakes: The front and rears are off a 13/14 GT500. 15" rotor in the front with the 6P Brembo brakes. Rears are 13.8" rotors with a CNC caliper relocation bracket.

Can I just throw out a big thumbs-up to Apex wheels?

We took my neighbor's 2016 M3 with only a tune and Apex wheels to the drag strip, and ran an 11.3 second quarter. Then we took the same car to VIR and ran a 2:12 around Full course. Awesome car, awesome wheels.

.....now, why no Corvette wheels? The price on OEM C5Z wheels has gone up dramatically. It's getting stupid.

Killer! Thanks so much for the post, and funny you mention Vette wheels. Camaro and Vette are the two platforms we are tackling next so stay tuned

In the mean time lets keep this thread rolling with some familiar shots from gtorpedo over on Track Mustangs Online. We are loving this S550 weekend warrior!
