I was at the Optima Street Car Challenge this weekend and a BFGoodrich test driver took his S550 to a second place in the autoX portion of the competition. The major changes on the car are a Ride Tech suspension and some wheels and tires (200 treadwear rating min for the series).

Great news for the carving ability of the S550.

I drove a stock base model V6 auto S550 at the BFG Autocross school at Mustang Week a couple of weeks ago. On my first run in the 2015, I was only 2/10th of a second off my fastest time of the day in my modded 2013 5.0 with full aftermarket suspension. And the new car felt so much more planted and stable than mine.

The handling of these new cars is no joke.

This is not helping my resolve. Fortunately the bank account saying "nopenopenope" does....
