Ok, I've been reading for about an hour now and still trying to piece together all the info/parts I'll need to convert my 06 GT to a 6060.

Besides the 6060 does anyone have a list of parts I'll need an (preferably) part numbers?

Best I can tell it's just:

Did I miss anything? Will that crossmember work?

Thanks!

Yes you need that cross member trans mount.

You will need the linkage from a stock gt500 shifter, which the barton doesn't include. The mgw shifter does includes a new hardened steel linkage.

Any ford modular 26 spline clutch will work.

Shifter pins 7R3Z - 7314 - A

I would have definitely taken you up on that but unfortunately I just purchased a 6060, hence the reason I'm asking about everything else :)

Remember me when you decide to sell. May eventually pull the trigger on this swap.

Is this a different trans from the one you were going to sell me?

The crossmember you are looking at might be for the T-56... Saleen put those in the early Extreme cars... I'm not sure if that will bolt up to the TR6060.... But any GT500 crossmember will work.

There's also some undoing of the stock wiring... The reverse lights plug is on the opposite side... But you just have to move the loom over.

Also the reverse lock-out solenoid won't work unless you do some wiring and buy the pigtail. However it isn't necessary to hook it up... You'll just have a little extra effort to put it into reverse.

I assume you are changing out the crankshaft of your engine in order to go with an 8-bolt flywheel... Otherwise you'll need a 6-bolt flywheel (or re-use the stock one) and a clutch disc that is 26-spline.

You'll need a different shifter assembly but the pins for the arms of the shifter will swap over. The rubber boot that your shifter goes through should work too, but I had to turn mine around 180 degrees along with the leather shifter boot itself.

The cross member is almost impossible to find. And the salvage yards have no idea what they’re worth, they just torch them out. Blowfish racing is considering making a run of them. When I talked to them, he said he had one actually sitting on his desk because a customer had asked them if they could make one. He did not know that Ford has discontinued them all together. When I told him the Ford news, there was dead silence for 30 seconds & then he said “so that’s why he came to us to get one”. If you find one, buy it.

I wonder if it would be possible to modify the GT xmember with milling/drilling a few additions and get it to perform?

I will be doing that trial. I assume Blowfish will be making it out of 1/4 steel.

I'll sell you my cross member for the TR6060 for $2,900 (I'll even through in a TR6060, 1p d/s, clutch, flywheel & shifter for free). :)

If you have that cross member off of the car we should get pictures of it. It looks like the only difference could be mounting hole position.

That billet thing looks like it's all in a couple planes, would be fairly fast and easy to turn out.

You’re welcome. I’ll see if I can do better tomorrow. I’ll check with a friend of mine that does CAD, and see what the best approach is.
