Hey corner carvers,

I recently had an issue with my Whiteline RSB, one of the U-bolts that secures it to the axle got its threads stripped. Whiteline sent me a replacement very quickly (and at no cost) - but I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or if it is due to some "user error".

Should I be using loctite on the U-bolt? I have the bar set to the 2nd hole from full stuff, so it is exerting quite a lot of "pulling" force downward on those threads. Also, what should I torque it to? There are no torque specs in their installation instructions.

Thanks,
Jim

You probably torqued it too much. Those u-bolts don't take much, it's not hard to actually stretch out the metal and make a flat spot on the curve. I put mine on with a 3/8" hand ratchet, paint marked them, and they never moved. No loctite.

I can't see the swaybar stripping the threads under the force of use. I can see an impact driver stripping the threads.
Did you run the other u-bolt up with an impact driver too?
