So I have been chasing this a mis or what sounds like a mis. Its more than just a mis and seems to very rich smelling even with new kooks catted H that I just installed. Cattless on first start up your eyes would water in the garage with the doors open. Video I linked at the bottom you can hear it at a steady idle. its doesn't to be that bad now that I have reloaded tune. I have a few people that think it's tune related. Shop that tuned says no way man! I also have no gauges per the recommendation, going to change that. Been a little slow about posting this until I could see what was going on by viewing with SCT X4.

SCT stopped working! :angry1:

Bought scanner used to load tune for headers plus vender tune 2 yrs ago. I then again used to load blower tune not long ago on first start. That's when I notice the slight mis. Used it twice after this to trying to view stuff when it stopped working. SCT know's they have a software problem but after 2 years its a 100.00 repair.. Long & short, I got it back and reload everything on scanner and car. Started it yesterday for the first time, it seems to run better and does not smell so rich. Still has slight mis but ran fine. stopped video when the car started smelling like rotten eggs and exhaust smelling really hot. Gas Maybe?

List of what I have checked.

1. Check and changed fuel filter was the original from 05 with 30K on it.
2. Pulled all new plugs and looked they over/cleaned up. (HTO's gap .30)
3. Looked over COP's (original) for damage or maybe not seated good enough when changed plugs.
4. Checked fuel injectors (possibly not seated right when installed blower) they looked and felt fine.
5. Checked hoses and fittings for leaks (vac).
6. Check MAFS and wiring, all good.
7. Check fuel line for a pinch (runs under throttle body)

Rookie mistake so I wiped the plugs off before putting back. These plugs have about 1 hour of running time.

You need to clean all that anti-sieze off and start over with just a dab on the threads

I believe his use of the anti seize on the insulator housing is to hopefully prevent breaks in future removal, due to the two-piece design.

It does seem like too much though since their are chunks visible.

You are correct. The night I installed them the first time. Never anti-seized any plugs. Lesson learned!

Now that it’s cleaned off, is it working properly?

Not really! It runs fine above 2000 rpms. Took it to the hardware store today and it ran fine. It seems turbulent or rough as you apply throttle from idle. If hold the throttle at a steady rpm you get a "pop" or cuts out if you will. Like a split sec.

Are you boosted on turbo? Is it possibly surging from the compressor? Bad ignition coil pack?

NO codes? The crank sensor could have that affect, I've had them drop out in weird ways

Saleen blower. I bought a new coil pack and plan on pulling one at a time to check it. Someone posted very similar problem today. I have a few thoughts just not sure how to check them. Stick fuel pump not delivering enough. Doesn't explain it smelling so rich. Getting to much fuel and washing cylinder. Again would need a tuner to read that and brenspeed is not interested in data logs.

Need to contact Lito next so I have been told. Just paid the other guys a lot and want what I paid for.

Data logs to come. Watched a " how to video" a while ago. Now that I have the programmer back this can be done. I don't know what I am looking for yet. Fuel pressure air fuel ratio, with a simple search should tell me what is normal. I have some wrote down.

I may be wrong but I thought I seen a section in livewire that lets you look at cyclinder misfires. It was the bottom of the tab list each individual cyclinder could be monitored.

Tuners typically ask to see "fuel pres drop across injectors," pump duty cycle, short & long term fuel trims, spark adder, spark, IAT, and MAF AD counts at the minimum. You may need to hook up your SCT to a laptop and log through Livelink to log all of those PIDs.

Wideband AFR would help as well but I'm not sure it if's cost effective to install a wideband setup just to chase a misfire.

I had a misfire/bucking issue that was never resolved by changing parts. I had Lito do my tune and it solved all my problems. But we don't know if it's a tune problem until someone looks at a log.

It sounds like an issue with spark, tuning or air getting in or out.

My guess would be tuning. For a tuner to say no way is presumptuous and irritating. The best tuners are suspicious of their work and will work hard to achieve stock like driveability.

Barely off topic, but

http://www.aa1car.com/library/ford_tsb_08-7-6.pdf

Per the Ford TSB, OP did it correctly, no? Or am I missing something? Perhaps a bit too much but I don't see too big of an issue. It's been a few years since I did mine but I recall following the Ford TSB and have had no issues since.

I feel it's likely tune related and your tuner should work with you to resolve, or at least verbally assist with troubleshooting. Hopefully you're able to get a log and get some answers.
