Yes, put one on my 2013 GT back in 2014. If I remember correctly, I had to disconnect one end of the panhard bar to remove the old and install the new. I also used the lubelocker gasket so I didn't have to mess with silicone and allowed me to remove/reinstall without scraping the old gasket material.

Just ordered the cover. Did the lube locker gasket work leak free? I’ve ordered that as well. Also were the included bolts long enough to accommodate the gasket?

Been a while since I installed, but don't remember any issue with the supplied hardware. The lubelocker gasket has not leaked.

I have lube locker on my 13 GT and 03 GT with same ford cover you are looking at. There fantastic, just install and fill it up. Neither one has ever leaked. Make sure you get the longer bolts for install as your OEM bolts are too short for the new cover. The fluid capacity isn't changed with the cover. I like the cover as you can drain the fluid without taking cover off.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, the cover I ordered also includes the new bolts so that’s covered(sorry bad pun). The ability to drain it later is one of the reasons I’m fitting it. In addition, I may move the vent up to the top of the new cover and plug the opening on the axle tube. I’m thinking with the vent located up higher they’ll be less barfing of lube out of it. Anyone know the torque spec for those bolts?

15 ft/lbs and use plenty of Teflon thread sealant tape

Thanks, is that for the drain plug or the fixing bolts? It's the latter I was asking about but am surprised one would use teflon tape there. Makes sense for the drain/fill plug though.

It's for the drain plug. Be very careful using Teflon with aluminum tightening the drain plug you can crack the alum. I use the teflon in a tube as it works better.

15 ft/lbs for the vent tube bolt (that is what you asked for?)
25 ft/lbs for the 10 axle cover bolts

Thanks, I guess I could have been clearer, it is the 10 cover bolts torque values that I needed.

OK, thanks. Yeah having owned and worked on lots of motorcycles (many aluminum bits with threads) I've gained a pretty good feel for this. There are times I'll stop a bit short of the recommended torque if I don't like what I'm feeling.

I have had a couple of these covers and used the Lube Locker gaskets with no issues as they work great! If I remember correctly the first cover I bought the cap screws developed surface rust. I replaced them with stainless steel cap screws. Accordingly I recommend you buy stainless steel cap screws if your new cover does not come with them.

Not sure what Lube Locker is; I just scraped the old gasket off and put a good bead of black RTV around the new cover.

I just saw what they were on Performance TV and it's a thin alum almost a shim with gasket material on both sides and it has a thin silicone bead. They say they are reusable

I have received my cover but am still waiting for the gasket to be delivered. My cover came with a threaded opening for the vent but no vent or plug. I want to move the vent from the axle tube to the top of the new cover but I need a plug to seal off the axle tube. Searching the internet and local auto parts stores, I’m unable to find a simple plug. Anyone know where to get one?
