This is why forums are dying. So much hate. And from a Super Mod/Administrator, no less.

Hate... really.... sorry dude, that's not hate.

All I was saying is that people flame people about using the search function. That's ridiculous. That's like saying "How dare you ask us a question!" And if no one is asking questions then forum activity takes a dive which in turn kills your Google search.

This is a great forum and alot of collective knowledge on the board. I'm not telling anyone how to run the board , just a suggestion to our members as they may not be aware of how activity effects things.

That is all. If you hate you hate. That was just my .02

I don't want anyone getting butthurt.

while "search motherfucker" was an often used term here historically, it's not been used much at all of late. When the same dumbass question gets asked over and over that's what would happen.

again there's really been no flaming here, if you're such a veteran of forums I'm shocked you think such, certainly no butthurt here.

I must have missed this one in the forum rule section

that and using the multi quote

So why all the frustration in what I said?

Obviously some people agree with me. It was a statement , I don't understand all the stressed responses?

It's been so long..................

People agree with you? One person agrees with you and they happen to be new as well. Troll somewhere else.

Been a while since we've had to school a newbie on the board rules around here.

And Dave's right, there hasn't been a bit of hate posted towards you in this thread yet. :beerdrink:

... and you are of course entitled to your opinion... as am I

facts don't care about your feelings....

:LMAO: this is not a pay for service business.... so why would you expect it to be "professional"

use the board, value the knowledge of it, source more information from members as needed, no one is suggesting otherwise, just be aware of the culture that made it what it is.

@Jgt58, obviously you're not happy here. And you claim to know how to run a forum. So why don't you start another one with your own rules? These guys aren't being mean to you. This a pretty light compared to how it used to be. I've been on the receiving end of a couple of them too. So I do know what I'm talking about.

Actually this forum isn't doing too bad. I've been on a couple others that are dead. And one of them is for a newer model truck.

This what I don't get. You guys are complaining about how the board is run. If you don't like it then move TF on. Quit trying to change what makes other people happy. Go find another board that will worry about your feelings.

Actually back in the day when the 3v was still being sold, this was probably the hottest Mustang forum on the internet. Several hundred active members per day. When I bought my 2009 Bullitt I joined 3-4 of the most popular Mustang forums I could find and within 3 months this was the only one I visited. The rules and attitude which you call 'unprofessional' is exactly why I liked this forum so much more than the rest. I tend to not have lots of patience for fools (of which the internet and population in general is loaded) and the guys who ran this forum had basically the same attitude, so I fit in well. I would like to think that most of the members here who have been around for a while share the same general feelings. We do respect each other, but we show that respect by not littering the forum with stupid questions and not insulting the intelligence of fellow members. It's a privilege to be accepted as a contributing member here. The fools are quickly pointed toward the door.

And as sad as it is that the forum activity is dying, I dare say most member would rather let it die than turn it into some bullshit facebook type forum where every other thread is something along the lines of 'Which oil should I use' or 'post a pic of your red Mustang'. I'm on an F150 forum like that and it absolutely sucks. I skim through a couple hundred new threads per day and might read 5.

Even though the Coyote and S550 platform is "more modern", there's still plenty of us "old timers" around, some of us still have S197's. This is a valuable resource not just to those who've been around many years, but also to those newer owners looking for fantastic experience and advice. I still look up articles on this site, and have made numerous local and national friends. I'd hate to see it go bye-bye.

If you've hung around car guys in the real world you know my example is 100% truth. You don't come in as the "new guy" to the group and proceed to tell them how they should act or what they should say to new members. Give your suggestion. If it's good, it'll get the appropriate response. If it's bad, it'll get the appropriate response. At that point you can say ok and move on or you can do what you did and argue that you are right and the existing group is wrong. Then when the group collectively says "STFU newb", you continue to argue and push your opinion as the way the board should run.

There have been many like you. So sleep well in knowing you are not special. But we can give you a participation trophy if it makes you feel better.

Judging by how you're reacting I beg to differ. But that's the cool thing about the internet, we can have different opinions on things.
