My stripes are getting brittle so I’m going to remove them. But before I do, I need some info.
Has anyone taken off the factory hood scoop off? When I take mine off, are there seals or gaskets I need to replace before reinstalling?

Ive taken mine off before to install some small LEDS. Didnt have any gaskets or anything apart from around the bolts which had seals around them. You are going to get ingress of water in there with where it is and I bet when you take it off it will be dirty underneath. Nice car :)

Good luck with your stripes my were brittle and cracked and would't peal off I had to get them removed at a paint and body shop and the car had to be repainted.

My stripes were cracked and brittle. Once I got the pieces off that I could peel off I sprayed this stuff over the little pieces left on the hood. With a plastic spatula I was able to lift the edges of the smaller pieces easily and remove them without issue. Then sprayed down the entire area to get rid on residue adhesive. I actually cut and buffed the hood afterwards because there were ghost outlines of the stripes.

I will soon write up the complete sitrep as soon as I regain flight control, having just this week gone through a soul-crushing, but educational experience with a miraculous 3M eraser wheel....use ONLY on metal panels, NOT the polypropylene rear bumper cover (VERBOTEN! Unless you have microsurgical skills, IST NICHT GÜT!)
Otherwise, heat gun and Aircraft Decal Remover Aerosol Gel. Bob's your uncle.
