(sp Woes)

Let me preface with I hate electrical gremlins like everyone else.

Latest issue has to do with power to the front turn signal assemblies.

The right side does not have power to the parking light (large bulb) (center post on the plug), but has power to the turn signal (same bulb) (side post on the plug). The side marker (small bulb) in the same front assembly works fine.

The left side parking light and turn signal works fine (large bulb). The side marker plug (small bulb) is not getting power.

I get having an issue with one thing, but both sides and different plugs? There's no fuses for these plugs that I can find aside from possibly the bussed electrical connector fuses 59,63,67, but everything else is working fine. Headlights/foglights work as well.

I replaced all four bulbs knowing it wouldn't help since there's no power going to the posts on the plugs. How do I backtrack this to the issue?

Did you check the sjb for signs of water intrusion? I’ve had random electrical issues caused by water intrusion a few times.

Looked up the front wiring for the turn/side markers. The 194 bulbs (side markers) are on their own circuit from the park/turn signals. So, I second the smart junction box check, assuming you have checked the bulbs.

Bulbs have all been replaced.

Really appreciate the charts. For the side\turn markers, are C1043 and C1023 replaceable fuses or integrated into the SJB? I can follow lines but not versed in electrical schematics.

An item marked Cxxx is a connector/plug.

I would still say remove the SJB (right kick panel) and open it up. Check for water damage. It really is the most likely issue IMO, and I would check that first before chasing wiring/continuity testing. Should only take maybe 30 min total to remove, check, reinstall the SJB.

Common concern. If you do find signs of water intrusion, check the drains underneath the windshield cowl. You should be able to see them without removing the cowl under the hood near the firewall. If they are still there, just pull them out with a pliers. No chance of clogging at that point.

Yep yep. Familiar with the water issue. I did see some water spots in there previously but never had any issues. Car hasn't seen water in over 2 years (no longer a DD and waterless wash), so it could be that it has some corrosion that started a long time ago. I'll see what I find tonight.

Pulled the SJB and there is one pin on the small plug on the front that had some white residue, more than likely from water. The rest looked like new. Even opened it and everything was clean inside, so not sure if that's the issue. Although these things are so sensitive that who knows. Going to see if I can find a used one somewhere, not really excited about paying $400+ for a new one to get two bulbs to work.

New or Used you will need 2 keys and the SJB will need programming.

Yeah, I need to research that. I've read that if you get a used one that matches your car you don't have to get it reprogrammed and there's also a way to reprogram the keys. A lot of bullshit for two bulbs. LOL

You guys know how much Ford charges to program these things?

Ford will charge 1hr labor/diag. That is $130 in this neck of the woods.

Forscan can setup the SJB. You need an ELM327 adapter, with HS/MS can switch. (i prefer USB wired) https://www.amazon.com/Forscan-Scanner-ELMconfig-FoCCCus-Diagnostic/dp/B07MQ8GHG3

Programming the keyfob - instructions in owner's manual.

Also, with Forscan, you can run an SJB self test. It will cycle through and turn on everything for a couple of seconds. I used this feature adding foglights to mine.

And then there is the hack, of just wiring the bulb that is out to the one that works.

Nice...good info and nice price on the Forscan. So this thing can tell me if there are issues with the SJB.

I've also been thinking about jumping the bulbs to the other side...might be the easiest thing to do. Pretty sure I'm not going to spend hundreds of dollars to fix this. I'll start with the Forscan and see what it says.

You do not have to reprogram keys to swap out a SJB...
also the sockets for the bulb that you are having problems with are also known for problems... try swapping the drivers to the passenger side to see if that is where your problem is at.

Thanks for the input. Did that as one of the many trouble shooting steps. There's definitely no power reaching the two connectors. Just weird that on the right side there's power to the turn signal but not the parking light and it's the same bulb\plug, just a different wire.

Yes there are 2. Fords theory was to try and control the water drainage. It will not hurt anything by removing them. It will also help eliminate water blockage concerns.

Actually you do. It is a module and the vehicle needs to be trained that there is a new module in the car or all features will not work. Most times you need 2 keys also.
