I bought the CDC shaker hood scoop Dec 2020 and finally just got it installed over the holidays on fly ‘08 GT. I’ve always loved the shaker hood scoop on the 60’s Mach 1.
I know that it’s not supposed to give any performance benefit even though it’s functional, but I seriously do feel a bit of difference in throttle response. I have it piped into the Airaid cold air intake box so whatever air that is being taken in will get picked up by the Airaid filter.
Overall I really love it, looks so damn good IMO, just the perfect protrusion height out from the hood. View attachment 81150

I don’t know if it gives any gains in actual power, but it increases the thrill behind the wheel for sure. Looks awesome from outside, but from the driver’s seat it is even better.
This was the first major mod to my 05 way back in about 06 or so.

Cautionary Trim Ring Note:
I just installed my new CDC Shakeyshakey last week, but could not OCD the final fitment before our weather went from Nice to Nineteen.
Suffice it, God's Grace was again gifted to me, this day in the form of a cold-weakened battery.
Hood up, boost kit, start, close hood....and trim ring bounced.
Recommend ya'll just strip & upgrade the 3Minute doublesided tape to the Upgraded Adhesive Flavor of your choice.
Godspeed, folks!

If you clean properly and install the included rivets it’s good to go. Mine’s been on since install with no issues.

Ordered a matte black GT500 style spoiler off eBay.. hoping it looks decent but it only cost $58 so who knows! Later tonight I need to get under it too and see where a small thumping noise is coming from over bumps, it’s only since I installed my sway bars/shocks so I’m guessing I missed a bolt or something..

Yessir, no doubt. I was overkill meticulous.....but, no rivets.
Mine is a thin, monopiece polypropylene ring, preapplied with very thin 3Maybe Schmoo tape.

I adhered it to a surgically sterile, catalyst-pretreated hoodhole perimeter, ringed with a full complement of $1.00 ÜberTactical GT Turbo Precision Composite Tactical Pro SuperFantastic BubblePlastic Clamps....
available at all of your local suspects.

Rivets -4x- are preinstalled to the discharge tube casting, interspersed with 4x Phillips locating holes for the '05-specific 3/8" optional riser.... no fasteners or instructions, but a perfect fit.....oddly, now vanished from CDC's docs, only a different 2010+ is offered.

Interesting....your note is one among a few from across the Interwebs regarding these new production variations in the 2005MY, 4.63V Gen2.x, not offered until late 2021.

I neglected to upgrade the recycled Shenzhen condom schmoo tape. I failed to factor wintertime Texas in my calculus, and that's on me.
CDC made a darned fine "individualized" product, for which I have only thanks and no complaints.

[FUN FACT- The More You Know:
ClassicDesignConcepts is, after all, somehow surviving in the dystopian democrat hellhole of MichiganUSA, a bankrupted, locked-down police state. God Bless them for sticking it out this long.]

Ok, I tried to quote your last post, but because you quoted me and put your comments within the quotations, I can’t.

Let’s see, I purchased my shaker way back. My trim ring has a inner and outer trim. I’ll try to take some photos tonight. Those two trim pieces kind of snap together on the inner edge of the hood opening. Then they River together. This helps to keep the outer trim ring snug, and keeps the inner hood insulation from sagging.

As far the rest of your comments, you lost me, there.

Just a suggestion but since you did replace both front struts thus assuming the clunking is at the front, I'd start there 1st & check the nut(s) on top of the USM's......especially if you didn't have 1 of the specially designed strut sockets that allow 1 to hold the strut shaft stationary while tightening the nut w\ a torque wrench. I had 1 come loose on my car causing clunking when I recently swapped springs even though I tightened all this on the ground prior strut install back in car using the tools that I had. I had to use my impact to get nut to tighten up (socket alone w\ torque wrench wouldn't work.....strut shaft kept spinning in USM) & stop the clunking, so I learned my lesson & have a set of these special strut sockets coming to do these right (gonna follow up w\ my torque wrench to ensure that the proper torque specs are applied to both front struts once these sockets get here) the 1st time going forward.

Hope this helps.

Your clunk, front or rear. I should have been more specific.
Sorry, feeling like shit today, totally misread what you meant. It is/was in the back, I retightened up all the sway bar and end link bolts and it seems to have gone away just shaking the car but I need to go out and drive it to confirm.

I actually had a set of those pass through sockets I’d be given a while back, worked out great being able to use two ratchets to tighten them down. The clunk was in the rear, I think I just hadn’t tightened down the sway bar end links tight enough. Need to get out and test it though!

Finally got off it & washed\waxed the car.......then drove her some afterwards.

Just can't stop smiling over how much better the 08-09 OEM Bullitt springs w\ Koni Orange dampeners riding on 07-14 OEM GT500 front\rear suspension upgrades, Roush 3rd Link UCA assembly & 12-13 OEM Boss 302 Track Pack sway bars have improved the car's handling & road manners\feel w\o giving up too much OEM ride compliance & maintaining 08-09 OEM Bullitt ride height. Ready to bust out for cruiser duty in 2022!

I’m elbow deep in a cam and valve spring change on my little 3 valve. Didn’t think there was anything wrong with it but I found the beginnings of what could have been catastrophic. A timing chain guide fell of when I touched it and the dowel came with it. I also found the reluctor on the crankshaft has the key way wallowed out. Strange sense that sucker is sandwiched between the timing gear and the damper. The damper was tight. These parts were new Ford parts last year so what the heck. I’m thinking this might be the result of using a two stage rev limiter to launch. I have read they can be hard on the valvetrain.

Up to you but I found that the look was odd and metal frame just behind needed to be trimmed to make it fit. Ended up buying another version with the fog lights spread further apart. Better look and fit.

With the lights closer to factory spacing but no Pony in the middle? Where did you find it? I’ve looked (admittedly not very hard) in the past for something like and came up empty handed.

AM carries both a Speedform Eleanor and several GT versions. I got the Eleanor. Overall, I like the look much better compared to the Armordillo (center lights).

Here's a pic of my son's car. Just be aware no matter what version you choose there may be fit/interference issues that could require trimming plastic/metal to get it to fit correctly.

Snowing here again after 18" a couple of days ago.

I finally got my set of strut sockets in thru UPS today (got delayed.....my gut feeling was due to the weather that the Midwest had gone thru last week) so I got out my torque wrench & a 9mm combo wrench & ensured that both USM shaft nuts were properly tightened\torqued to specs.

Now this is a dead issue for me!
