I have thought about that possible issue, since I have a bullitt, I basically have the gt500 (or at least my car had it since I bought it 12 years ago) air compressor and slime for a spare; obviously it's bad by now (slime). I do have a plug kit in the event I get a nail or something of that...
The weights did grace the caliper though. There is probably 1/8 of an inch of clearance. Going to be taking the rims to get then re-balanced and ask them if they could put the weights elsewhere.
I did see them at American Muscle and purchased them as well. Hopefully in a couple of days I will install them, here is a pic of the rims. According to American Muscle, these brakes should clear the rims
When swapping over the calipers, what bolts did you'll use to attach the caliper to the hub? Did you all reuse any of the bolts from the caliper bracket (gt) to hub?
Ended up purchasing these rims, and got the calipers, rotors and pads through RockAuto for 390 shipped. For the brake lines, I'm thinking between the Power Stop braided steel or ford racing boss 302 brake lines....same price, what do you all think?
The wheels is a factor for me. I have a 2008 mustang bullitt with the stock bullitt in the front (18x8.5 with a 255/45/r18 wheel) and after market but bullitt style rims in the back (18×10 with a 285/40/18) and I LOVE the look and size of my rims. My car is full bolt on, (cams headers and...
I sent a message to ghunt81 and he clarified that he was talking about a stock 19 in gt wheel from a 2015. I'll probably just go with a correct wheel spacing if I decide to upgrade to a bbk. Used to go to the track but realistically, that has happened in many years; therefore, don't think it...
I wanted to follow up with this post, I would like to upgrade my brakes but really want to stick with my stock 18x8.5 Bullitt wheels...so if I get 6 or 7 mm spacers and extended studs, I will be able to retain the stock rims?
I personally noticed a huge improvement on my 2008 Bullitt when I replaced the clutch, flywheel ( i used ram cltuches and lightened flywheel), throw out bearing (FORD or quality brand for throw out bearing) and added shims to the back of the throw out bearing.
