    I see people talking about the "hat", and I'm assuming that is the pump housing, and that you are saying to pull the new pump out of the housing and put it in the OEM housing ("hat"). Is that right? Are the aftermarket housings that crappy? That sucks!

    Thanks. I just finished pulling it all apart again so I could check the crossover tube. Stuck my whole arm in both sides of the tank, and I couldn't feel any kinks or breaks. I even hooked up a vacuum pump to it and it holds vacuum. So I'm assuming the pump is a crap design. I'll drive it down...
