I had the same concern on a 2007 GT convertible with the factory XM antenna on the trunk lid. The XM receiver is located in the right rear fender. Took the trunk liner out, unmounted the receiver, and unplugged the antenna cable. There is a shell around the connector but it just snaps together...

Our '07 GT/CS convertible with 113K miles had the same tick. Was more noticeable at start-up. Louder between 1,500-2,000 RPM. Quieter under moderate load but louder when let off throttle. Eventually, it was loud all the time. Watched/listened to all the YouTube videos to try to match the sound...
