Moisture will get in the system even though the smallest of holes. The fact that your system was open for months means you definitely have moisture in the system. The drier is a moisture magnet so it either needs to be replaced or have a long vacuum session drawn on it, the longer the better...

WOW. Hope everything inside the tranny is still ok from running it low of fluid. Could that have been the problem with the original trans?

I'm not real sure. My 06 is a manual. I would think a scan tool or a programer that can data log would show gear selection. My be worth starting a new thread on transmission electronics and or wiring. There hast to be a way to tell. The OBD2 port would be my guess too.

Are you sure the trans is actually in first gear and not second or a higher gear when pulling out from a stop? Any higher gear would possibly allow it to roll backwards because there isn't enough torque transfer so it would feel really slow and sluggish. That could be a computer or eleclrtical...

Which flca's did you end up going with? Can you tell a big improvement? Did you look into the gt500 flca's?
