Shift light

Ok so I want to install a shift light on a manual trans 06 gt. I have never messed with one so I wanted to get some opinions on which one to go with and how the install goes. Thank you for the input in advance

Go with Raptor. Check out their website. Simple install three wires. Ground,tap a cop and and power source. Set the rotary switch for the RPM and done. Light comes on when you hit the desired rpm . Raptor proformance has the install instructions on their site.

Never had good luck tapping a COP wire as far as stability. I tapped into the RPM signal out of the PCM for a good, stable, and clean signal all all RPM levels.

Only the 2007+ ECU's have the CTO (clean tach output) pin.

stkjock gave you a pretty good list of threads that covered this question well.

I have an 06 and use a raptor light with a tapped COP. Zero issues since 2009.

I use an Autometer NV series DPSS level II (105-7388) It is fully programmable for each gear, has launch mode, progressive shift color change, peak RPM memory...and is nice and bright. Easy to set up and install, and very easy to tap a COP wire. If you solder and heat-shrink the wire you will never have issues.

Another vote for Raptor. I can't remember how long I've had it in the car (~2 years), but it is probably one of the best mods I've done.

+1 for Raptor. I've had mine on 5-1/2 years with zero issues.
