Seeing as we've had several guys recently trade in for F150 EB's, I thought it'd be nice to have a thread to discuss builds and mods.

I present to you, FX4 TT:

2012 Race Red F150 FX4 Ecoboost SuperCrew
Luxury Package, Appearance Package, Navigation, Moon Roof, Tailgate Step

Here's how it came home off the showroom floor:

First thing I did was head over to my tint guy for the following:

Window (5%) and Windshield (50%) Tint, Headlight Side Marker Tint, Mirror Turn Signal Tint, Grill Emblem Tint, and Tailgate Emblem Tint.

Full exhaust, with straight through mufflers should show impressive gains. Much more than you see with an NA car.

Sweet truck. So any plans on more power since stock is never enough.

Tim

I'm still in research mode at the moment, but if I was gonna pull the trigger right now, I'd get the following:

Livernois 91 Performance Tune via My Calibr8or

AFE Stage 2 Intake

Full exhaust, with straight through mufflers should show impressive gains. Much more than you see with an NA car.

I'm undecided on exhaust, but I definitely want to lift it and throw bigger tires on it.

Sweet, nothing like having a truck that halls ass and suprises the shit out off someone at the stop light that thinks they can get you because your a big ass slow truck.

Can't wait for my raptor to come in! :) sick truck man!

I can't wait to see it either! Should be everything you want and more! That's what my truck is for me!

Same here, set on the intake, but not on the device. I kinda like the Edge device, but like the idea of running the Livernois tune which requires a MyCalibr8tor or a more expensive option.

I also have an Xcal 3 already, so I can run a Fast Parts tune on that.

Nick, that intake looks awesome as hell with those twin filters like that!

Man, I am so tempted to trade my Mustang for an Ecoboost F150 FX4. But I love my Ruby! Can't afford both.

I can't decide what I'll do with the raptor. I know it'll get modded though. And it's race red so it's gonna be sexy!

I can't decide on just a straight pipe which is always loud. Or cut outs with MBRP or Corsa for when they're closed. I saw a pro charged raptor and it was sexy as fuck, but idk if I'll go that far with it haha. Maybe just exhaust, tune, intake and then who knows.

Damn I guess I'm late to the party on the mustangs departure. That truck is bad ass man. My dd is a 2000 f250 crew cab 7.3 in red n I would looooove to replace it with a truck like that....except I can't justify having that and the stang as far as money goes lol. This damn new kid has put a cramp in my style lol.

I really like this design best, and seems to be the most highly recommended setup.

I absolutely loved my Mustang too, but ultimately decided it'd be best to have another family vehicle that still has room for fun.

I'd go Corsa over MBRP if it were my truck. I've always been a fan of their exhaust.

Procharged Raptor would be a badass build!

I've seen just about every Ecoboost mod there is available as I'm one of the mods over on F150Forum.com and researched heavily into it prior to buying my 12 EB F150 last month.

Tuning

So far, the best two ( best being subjective of course to some people's opinions, but by far the most popular and best feedback ) tuners are Livernois using the MyCal device and SCT. Livernois now has two versions of their tune, a street tune and a much more aggressive tune ( V2 I think they call it ). Just about everybody who has installed a Livernois tune from what I've seen, has been 100% happy with it. Only downside is cost and locked into just their tunes with the MyCal.

SCT is also another very popular tuner for it and best bang for buck. Best email tuners that I've seen real world reviews on so far has been Mike at 5 Star Tuning, Torrie at Unleashed Tuning, Mike at More Power Tuning, and I believe Eric at Innovative Diesel now has a SCT Ecoboost tune as well. Far as max power, be looking at around 50 to 60 rwhp gains and 100 to 115 torque running a 93 tune between any of the above. Looks like the major limiting factor for more power tuning wise is the fuel system.

Exhaust
Exhaust is the kicker of the Ecoboost. Hard to get a GOOD tone out of the V6 with twins expecially to some of us used to the roar of our Mustangs. ( Couse, the 5.0 and 6.2 guys dont have this issue, lol ) Power and tone ranges from across the board, but below is the most popular exhaust system setups I can think of off top of my head. Prices will range from $300 to $800, and the lower end systems def seem to have more of a vtech burner sound at WOT but some have a GOOD tone as well, just different.

1) Solo Performance, have two different kind of cat back systems depending on which sound you want, and they also just released their mid pipe, catted and non catted setup couple weeks ago. One of the very best systems but also $$$$

2) Stainless Works, currently in development for their turbo back system, they've posted up some development videos over on the F150 forum asking for feedback, and from what I've seen, looks to be one of the best systems, power and sound wise. If you know SW work, you know it's gonna be good. This is the system I'm waiting on them to finish as I more then likely will get one. Will also be fairly expensive and one of the top two IMO

Below companies have system for the EB catback with varying prices and sounds.
3)Hearthrob catback
3) MBRP catback
4) Flo Pro catback
5) Afe catback
6) Flowmaster catback
7) JBA catback

Intake

I'm undecided as of yet on intakes and the benefit of them to the EB. I love the look of the AFE Stage 2 with it's twin filters, BUT we had a guy who did a dyno before and after install of it on same day, same dyno and temps, and gained a whopping 1 rwhp and 4 torque. Made sure it was installed right, let a cool down happen, did another two pulls and same results. When we asked the AFE rep about it, we never got a straight answer as to why such small gains. I'm holding off until I see more real world reviews on it. I know a few tuners did some testing with a variety of intakes when developing their tunes and good number of them said the stock box flows well enough, biggest different to intake is just able to hear the twins better.

Here is a pic of my 12 XLT when I picked it up. Only done a few cosmetic things to it so far. Got a set of 2 inch drop shackles arriving this week so that will level out the ass of it and also getting a baseline dyno number this week. Headed to the track Friday to get some stock runs in and after that, going to tune it.

Also, here is a list copied and pasted from my other forum, which shows the drag times people are getting with the Ecoboost, both stock and modified. ( doesn't seem to be a ton of info out there yet for it so I figured I'd toss it up )

Just ordered Corsa mufflers with QTP cutouts! :)

Looking into the pro charger idea more and more. As of now I'm keeping stang, but if I sell it, ican easily get the pro charger
