i'd be interested in seeing the IAT2 temps when it popped, and I don't think the tuner was Lund. very interesting that it was less boost tham the race tune. something sounds like it ran amuck

So my friend was getting his car retuned. He wanted me to drive it since our cars are similar. Long story short, smoke screen, clunk clunk.

Car has a tvs at 10 psi. Made 720 rwhp on race fuel at 13psi.

So who has good deals on forged shortblocks?

It was a stock block? If so 720 is alot on any stock block including a GT500. The 5.0 has been cracking cylinder bores with less.

I'd be looking at an frpp aluminator. Call around for the best price.

Or, building one from scratch. https://fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=22639

It was a stock block. it did run 10.4@134 on the previous tune.

personally I would go for the Aluminator as well.

So who tuned it? lol
:deadhorse:

I am not going to name the tuner. I would not want someone to assume the motor went due to a bad tune.

This is not the tuners fault. We all know that high horsepower levels make these engines a time bomb.

My stock 3 valve with a PD blower broke a rod at 500 rwhp and 500 rwtq. By the photos of this it looks like a rod failed.
PD blowers like the TVS and Twin Screw are harder on the engine due to the massive TQ curve.
A centrifugal not as much. Boosting any stock motor beyond 10 psi with a positive displacement blower is more of a gamble regardless if its a 3 valve or a Coyote. I was told all this before i blew mine but ended up blowing the stocker anyway no tune can be blamed in my opinion with a stock short block at these power levels. I'm not saying that a catastrophic failure wont happen at under 10 psi but you will be gambling with better odds.

^^ wish this could be sticked so when people ask the question "should I get a centri/PD blower" info like this is readibly available.

Can't be AED. Shaun can keep a stock block Coyote alive to 900rwhp on N/A revving to 8500!:nk:

Can't be Shaun's tune. He said the tuner was "reputable and known in all the forums"...............so "reputable" leaves BBR out too... LOL!!!

Wonder who it could be that all the forums think is "reputable"......

Guys. He was over 700rwhp on stock block.. That shit was a ticking time bomb! I believe i have seen said car at the track quite a few times. It looked like it ran pretty damn good on whoevers tune it was on.
