Lol, I've only had mine a year and got over 11k in it thus far. I think I need this. Too bad my car is a DD right now.

I have had mine 7 years and put more than that last month...It is an addiction...I would have to dig up reciepts but this does sound like a good idea.

I wonder what it would be if you only drive it about 50 miles a year?

This sounds like something Ultraklasic should use....he will have no problem staying under the 50 miles per year criteria!

Not a bad price OP. Currently my dad uses Hagerty for his Boss 429, Pantera's and Cougar. It's expensive, but it is not something to overlook when caring for the cars.

Hagerty, insured for $45k cost 1k a year. Need proof of DD. I don't have a garage but I do have a car port and it is gated. For those without a garage this may be a good alternative.

The only issue is that most of the time they want your DD to be newer than the vehicle they are insuring. In my case the car is a 2007 and I DD an 06 F250 so that limits some companies for myself. Just food for thought

This is all good info, but I'm gonna guess this is not applicable to cars that see the track.. right?

I need to look into this. When it was just me and the wife with drivers licenses insurance wasn't bad at all. It climbed 50% when my oldest daughter got her license. My youngest just got her permit so insurance will go up again soon. Insuring 4 vehicles with two teenagers isn't going to be fun. Teenagers are expensive.

how is grundy? I called them and they were the cheapest. Any issues with them? please share your expereince.

Same here with Grundy's 4 years on my 05 GT insured value at 28K Yearly cost $411. No claims ,so can't comment on their service.
Grundy's does require a must have DD car.

Heacock here (that sounds a little dirty).

My blue car is insured for $85K for $1,200/yr.

I called them but they put me on hold for too long, so I hung up. I will give them another try today. Do they acquire to have a appraisal? Also receipts for the mods? Any negative experience with them?

here is some information/quotes i got. Im 26yrs old and still a college student and work part time. I will be adding more quotes as I speak to different companies thru out the week. The quotes are based for 50K.

1. Hagerty. Quote was $2452/yr. My dd needs to be no older then 5yrs. Which to me was rediculous high and DD kinda just piss me off.
2. American collectors. $1568/yr must be paid in full.
3. Grundy. $805/yr must be paid in full. The conversation on the phone didnt last long because the assoicate was hurry to get off the phone or really didnt care about the customer service.
4. American modern. $458/yr could be paid in full/quarterly.

Please chime in with your expereince(positive/negative) feedback from your insurance company. Thanks

I did an online with Hagerty. They don't ask for a name, just some basic disqualifying questions. They also let you choose different levels and see what the price would be.

I set mine up with $2500 deductibles, max on liability, underinsured motorist, and a value of $27k. Came back with $532. This is a 47 year old married male with no moving violations or accidents. Keep in mind I don't live in a rural area.

For the sake of comparison my regular policy has all of the above (better liability) except for $1000 deductibles and was around $550 before my daughter got her license. With her driving it went up to $834. These prices are per year. Daughter #2 is taking driving school right now so everything is about to go up again.
