Could be a vac leak, make sure the spark plugs are all seated and none backed out. 45psi oil pressure at idle is healthy.

is it a 4.6? if so i had a ticking noise that turned out to be a lash adjuster. from what I've read this is a common problem with the 4.6

Like I said earlier it's sounds like a lash adj (lifter). Mine would come and go and sometimes go days without making a noise. There was no pattern to it. Just figure out which side and replace all of them. That's what the dealer did for me.
