Packed the Bullitt for a trip to Dallas. All loaded down with jack, tools, stands, ect...(beer)

Going to do my first mustang modification at a buddies place. Offroad X pipe and a tune. Should be heck of a fun weekend!

Made several 10 second passes, cut lights at .03-.09, made it to finals then got screwed out of finals when they didn't call the lane I was running in.

But I had fun!!

Most of my passes in the 1/8 were 6.8 @ 99.

Spinning in first in second. Sactown got a few great videos of the front wheels off the ground. It was bad ass!!

Clint,

Nice times and you had Fun to boot.

Yesterday I dropped off the gray coil covers I just bought to get them hydro dipped.

What sort of cams went in there? I think I've noticed one gt500 with aftermarket cams out there. On video, anyway.

I feel like you need a license plate that says 5 CAMS now. That oughta confuse the shit out of people.

Haha, that's a good one.

BilletProShop NSR grind from Bullet Racing Cams. Online I see many GT500's with cams, but in person I don't think I've seen more than a few. Unless you have the engine out, it's not worth the exercise IMO. I can have the engine out in pretty good time and I needed to install the 2" LT's as well.

This is a sound clip of the idle from these cams.

Finally solved a rear end clunk I've been trying to track down for months. I finally had it yesterday after hearing it get worse on way to work. Got out pushed against the car and heard clank clank clank. Wtf? I push on it while my coworker feels for the clunking part. Found out it was the adjustable locking nut on my PHB this whole time. But when it even gets a little tension on it (jacking up the body even a little to get under easily), it won't make the noise. Grab it on the ground and it clunks. The hollow bar made it sound like it was coming from both sides so I kept thinking endlinks, lcas, etc.

Tightened it up and was completely quiet for my 200 mile trip. Damn, all this time it was a loose nut. Monday when I get back home I'm going to loosen it back up and apply some red loctite.

What will I do to my Mustang today? Probably another day of nothing! A crappy weather forecast is, again, the problem. My Mustang will remain ensconced within its garage. Maybe tomorrow...

I went through the exact same thing with my Bullitt. 3 months I fretted over that stupid clunk before finding it.

Gabe, what color did you ask them to paint the covers first? It makes a difference in the final appearance.

It's been driving me nuts. Was yours a PHB too?

Yup, exact same as yours. I found it when I had the car up on a rack at my buddy's shop and was wiping down my high dollar painted suspension parts. When I grabbed the panhard it wiggled.

What I was gonna do today was change my fuel filter, spark plugs an try to tuck in the passenger side pipe a little (it's stickin out about 1/4" further than the driver's side) followed by a wash. What I actually did was sit my lazy ass on the couch all day with a hangover. Time to reevaluate how I spend my Friday nites...

Not my Mustang, but I spent the first half of the day working on my bucket truck. Built a couple outrigger pads, fixed two broken hydraulic levers, straightened the back bracket where I backed into a fire hydrant last week, added some retainer clips so I quit losing my outrigger pads when I whip around corners too fast, and then gave it a bath because the grunge was getting thick. Started at 7 and finished about 2.

This truck has been very good to me and I enjoy reaping the rewards when I spend some time keeping it in good shape. I'm not a high roller like some here, but I work hard and do ok for myself. I get a lot of satisfaction out of minimizing my reliance on others and doing things to make my work easier.

Guy said he puts Schoolbus Yellow on as the base color
