Wanting to know the same. I have about 16500 tied up in my car at this point. If it was to be totaled black book is around 6500. It's hard to keep putting money into it knowing if it's totaled I would be at such a loss.

Check out Grundy's. You can insure for any agreed amount. Have my 05 GT insured for full replacement valve of 25,000. Insurance cost based on agreed valve of the car

if your Stang is not a DD and you have a second DD, you can get speciality insurance from Grundy, Hagerty, etc. Agreed value and much reduced cost.

My Shelby is insured for $42K and cost is less than $400 a year for full coverage.

Wow, what company is that Dave? I have Hagerty at about $600 a year with a value of only 18k and my driving record pretty good.

How often can you drive the car with specialty insurance? Is it only on weekends, certain months of year etc? I need to do this

It's mileage, not frequency

For mine, if I wreck on the track, no coverage.

Think all insurance is like that as it is considered "off road", from everyday GEICO to specialty Grundy. You are supposed to buy track day insurance technically each time you go the the drag strip to motor park racing

Bumping this up again... just called Grundy and they just offer a flat rate w/ unlimited mileage, same as Haggerty. Looking for coverage on a ZRI ; Grundy 900/year and Haggerty was 2600 ... 60k value ... Does anybody know who has specialty insurance which considers miles driven ??

Call your agent. That is my tip as an agent here in Texas.

Yes you can spend the time to research, read the policy, ect. But this is what an agent does all day. He/she will know the best way to cover your ride, even ways you don't see advertised on the net. Be sure and ask what the exclusions are, so you know, and to make sure they know. :)

Just a helpful tip guys. We make commission off the sale, might as well put us to work. The good agents love calls like this.

I can only speak for Texas, but Safeco I know has a Classic Auto policy. One of the rating factors is mileage per year.

Edit* when a company has a "classic auto policy", they generally will include "specialty auto"

Unlimited mileage? I listed my 07 GT/CS with 10k miles per year on the application and they denied it. I guess a 10 year old Mustang isn't special enough to them. Any insurance agents in Georgia able to help?

Thanks much Dave.. I'll definitely look into Grundy, as State Farm doesn't offer any type of specialty insurance at all.. They offer classic car insurance, however my car won't qualify for classic for another 4 years.. In the meantime, I'll follow up and post what I find out from Grundy..

I just tried to get a quote from Hagerty and Grundy. Grundy shows I have to have a minimum of 3 cars. Hargerty says mine doesn't qualify. I picked 06 mustang gt (modified)with driving less than 5k a year and as a second driver. So I really don't know what you have to have to get them to pick you up. I also have start farm will talk with them about the rider as mentioned earlier and see what happens.
