There is an advertiser on this site that claims a DYNO run on a bone stock 2014 Mustang GT pulled in a 406 RWH reading at 6600 RPM and was still climbing. That seems very high to other claims in the last years. Even my DYNO Expert I just talk to yesterday says 375 is a typical run. With the 2018 Mustang GTs, magazine review people are overwhelmed these 2018s will do 425 at the wheel. Seems the feel of a 3450 lbs 2014 Mustang GT with 406 RWH would be way faster then a 3850 lbs 2018 Mustang GT with 425 RWH. So a test drive of both cars back to back might result in the same gut feel. Pop the hood on the 2014 and say, OMG this 2014 has a BOSS ECU. I made a copy of the DYNO graph for posting later. BOSS Long Block in a 2014 GT with a BOSS ECU???

I put a used 2013 GT engine in mine off fleebay, 75,000 miles claimed by seller. All I did to it was change the oil and spark plugs before I put it in the car. Stock headers, Magnaflow catted X, JLT CAI. 404 HP at the wheels on 87 octane gas.

I'm running a stock 2013 PCM with the coyote control pack tune file.

That is interesting although this test was said to be from a bone stock unchanged factory 2014 Mustang GT and it did 405 RWH at 6600 RPM with an upward curve. The company actually says they certified the test conditions and car.

Here is the dyno sheet. I deleted the company for now.

you realize comparing dyno numbers is a silly effort.... to many variables both naturally and that can be user manipulated.

Well it is an advertiser on here doing it. This all came about talking to my Dyno guy yesterday. If I was going to do a Dyno Run, what would we look for? Is there any numbers that would indicate what I am looking for "ie a Boss Long Block" true short of taking the motor apart? He said maybe 30hp over 375 might do it from his personal viewpoint. I said, let me look around for some already published tests. So it is what it is. Found this right away a few hours after talking to the Dyno guy. A test 30hp over what was expected on a "ALL FACTORY STOCK" 2014 Mustang GT.

IMO - what you need to look at, if you can find it, is tests of the same car on the same dyno, preferably on the same day to get a comparison. it's those gains that are more reliable for comparison, not different cars on different dynos on different days.

-and that would account for plus or minus 30rwh or more????

my point, which I'm apparently not getting across, is a single glory pull from some random car is not really much value.

---and this is the main reason other then the weather that the dyno test for my Mustang GT has not been done. Although you would think there is a statistical spread to all this preventing a Infinity Q50 3.0 from doing 600 RWH on one machine and another Q50 3.0 doing 300 RWH on another machine.

Larry - dyno testing is worth while to get a baseline to work from and see the gains attainted when mods are made.

if a dyno operator wanted to get a 600 whp pull form a Q50 they could get one

After talking to them, I do get that impression. The only sure way is to pull the intake manifold and look at the intake ports. The Dyno guys have three all day sessions with local race cars next week. That seems to be their bread and butter and not a pull here and there with some random street car.
