My wife loves driving Grand Marquis and Crown Vics and has owned several over the years and currently drives a 2007 Grand Marquis. We've been looking for a different car for her as hers is up to about 175.00 miles, but still looks good, runs great, and gets 24mpg. I just wanted to get rid of it while we can still get something for it. She doesn't like anything she's test driven which includes Taurus', Fusion's, and Chargers
Happens I'm also looking for a different track car to replace my current 2010 Roush 427R, and was in the though process she was going to make us sell the Roush, which she barely ever drives because she likes her couch on wheels.
Well today she surprised me and said she does not want to see the Roush go and instead wants to start using that for her summertime daily, keep her Grand Marquis for the winter car, and have me get a different car for the track. I did not see that one coming at all..... I'm kinda in shock... but let the shopping begin..... :)

I know how she feels lol. Theres nothing like driving a crown vic or grand marquis, they just dont make them like they used to. I miss driving my 98 p71, if it wouldve had rack and pinion I wouldve kept it.

Good luck finding something!

IMO, it's not a matter of being "controlled." My wife & I are "partners" and make "mutual" decisions...this is probably why we're still going strong after 33-years of wedded bliss (wed in 1985), renewed our vows in 2005 (when I retired fm USAF) and 5-yrs pre-wedding courtship (met in 1980).

OP, sorry to hijack your thread, but it torques me when people think one person (wife/husband) controls the other...large decisions are mutual (IMHO) & yes, that's her wedding dress fm 1985 (still fits). :D

First off, Thank you for your service!!!
I was just curious to see that idiots explanation....
I agree with everything you stated, my wife and I are best friends, we discuss everything, especially when it comes to financial stuff...
We've been together since 1989, married since 99 (I needed a long trial period ) ;)

My apologies, but it certainly sounded like your wife wields unilateral power in your original post. Guess not.

A 13-14 GT 500 would make a worthy successor.

Unfortunately GT 500 is not on my list, I drive with hand controls so I need an automatic. Maybe the new GT 500, that's supposed to have auto, but probably out of my price range..
I'm looking at something with paddle shifters, preferably a Mustang, I'm paraplegic in a wheelchair and they are easier for me to get in and out of as they sit a bit higher than say a Corvette or Porsche.
My current 2010 Roush has the 5r55 trans. I keep overheating it when running it on the track and I've done as many upgrades as possible to try to keep it cool with no success. My only option is a different type trans or a different car. I can't do a trans myself and don't think I can trust any of my car buddies with it either.... cost effectively for me a different car is a better solution.

How about an S550 GT with the 10-speed automatic?

Norm
That is pretty much what I'm thinking about. Have not ruled out 2012-14 either, I prefer to stay away from a supercharger this time as well, however I looked at a 2014 Roush S3 with low miles and a great price that has me really considering it..... trying to hold off on getting something until closer to spring.
