Generally, and depending on your financial situation, sell the 3v, buy a S550. The DOB kit, 3.73s and good tires were the best mods I did. Building a forged short block, cranking up the boost, also fun, but not proportionally to the cost.

As the price of used S550s go down my supercharger and TR6060 may find a new home in a few years.

This is also a great option.

Look, im not trying to be negative, but its your power plant that sucks. Sorry other 3v guys..... any argument you want to make just says a bunch o money later to get where a 12-14 is already. They do look similar in design, although not the same ......I own a 12, got mine for 17k with all the upgrades on it already, Steeda lowering spring, steeda front adjustable struts, steeda adjustable rear coil overs, Steeda adjustable pan hard bar, Boss intake Manifold, Airaid cold air intake, Corsa axle back, full oem CA Special interior, raxiom deck w/ nav and back up camera, 20 inch shelby razor wheels. Car was not over built but common sense things were done. 79000 miles were on it when i got it, all for 17k

Thanks for joining just to make this post. :yeahright:

The anti-3V stuff is stupid. I would take a boosted 3v, with the 05-09 styling, over an NA Coyote 2011+. Especially with the Honda Prelude look of the S550s. And price point would be better.

I get the Coyote can be boosted beyond what the 3V can handle without dumping a bunch of money into the 3v, but then the Coyote becomes more pricey and is no longer an apples to apples comparison.

I've owned a couple Coyotes, but the elitist bitch in some of the 2011+ owners really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

the only parts I changed in my 12 psi 3v were the cams and the rods... it's not a difficult row to hoe.

I've driven many coyotes and they don't give me the "i'm going to crash and die" Mustang feeling that I need.

I was in the same boat but loved the 05-09 look so I slapped on a Whipple kit and I am happy as shit with it now. She’s a hoot to drive! I get the giggles when I mash the skinny peddle and that’s good enough for me.

To Hockeygod: whats your definition of built?
That is very subjective to most. Since my first and last post.....I since then I went to...............●Cobra Jet intake Manifold ●VMP twin 67 TB ●PMAS cold air ●JPC overflow reservoir ●Lu47 injectors ●BBK Long tube headers ●BBK offroad Xpipe (no Catts) on this car ● Extreme Stop cross drilled and slotted rotors ●Extreme Stop carbon graphite pads ●Russle steel braded brake lines ●Ford Motorcraft dot 5.1 brake fluid ●JLT catch can ●Barton hybrid 3 shifter- trans mounted ●Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft ●JMS fuel pump voltage booster only 5volts over stock settings ●AMP Stage - 3 BUILT MT82 transmission ●Ford Racing roller pilot bearing ●(All MacLeod) ○Street extream clutch-26 Spline, ○race spec flywheel, ○hydraulic throw out bearing, ○steel braded clutch line. ●BMR adjustable rear upper control arm. 460 to the rear wheel dynoed, By the way................

I have not had a NA 3v even get close to me yet.
As far as Being "Built" this is what I'm working with and will be using this power plant soon.
●2012 5.0 coyote block ● Ford Racing BOSS Forged Crankshaft ● MANLEY 4340 Forged H-beam Rods with ARP Bolts ● MANLEY Cobrajet Forged Pistons with Chromoly Steel Pins ● AP Steel Total Seal Rings ● Clevite Rod & Main Bearings ● BOSS 302-R heads ● Comp stage 3 cams...estimated rear wheel power 525 to 540
Olnly realy know when we get it on the dyno.
