I installed a C&L cai and loaded the appropriate SCT tune....everything was fine for 500+ miles, but now I am getting " lean bank 1" errors. If I bump the A/F wot mix 2%, would that get rid of the code until I get a dyno tune ? Thanks!!!

the wot fuel is exactly that, so it might help up top, but wont do anything for when your fuel trims are active.

This^^^^

OP: The code is for closed loop.

Stft are instant corrections, ltft are corrections based on past stft. The code is only for closed loop. Your adjustment is only for open loop.

A dyno tune will help provided the tuner is also adjusting for closed loop loads. It's quite common for a dyno tune to consist of tuning for wot (open loop) and that's it.

The code is telling you that the self tuning ltft is at the point of not being able to correct any more. This is usually because the maf xfer isn't predicting fuel needs correctly and the fuel trims have passed a pre set point that throws a code.

If it was me I'd think past the dyno tune and seek out a tuner who will data log what is going on at the present, get the maf xfer function sorted out, and then get on the dyno or data log at the track for the wot final tuning.

That was the long answer, sorry. The short answer is to get a decent tune because the sct tune is throwing codes. Drive it easy until then.

The tune is presently just the one that is preloaded on the SCTx4.....93 octane with a C&L cai. I can drive it hundreds of miles with no issues, and then the next time I start it, I get a lean code before I get out of the driveway....its very random. I've cleaned the maf. My main concern.....is the engine "safe" if the error stays cleared ?

Check your CAI connections especially underneath the throttle body. That has a tendency to come undone and you can't see it. Might be why it was fine and now running lean as it is kinda like a huge vacuum leak.

Diablo tune and now have the same issues. 2195 & 2197. Ive looked and no vacuum leak at the CAI.
Also I have a Street C&L intake. Thats about it. No other mods. Ive put several tunes on it from Diablo (the tuner has several). Im very frustrated. The car wont idle and it quits. uugghhhhhhhhh

Unplug the maf and start it if it idles and revs fine, it's a tune issue.
