can I go 1.75 in the rear with a 285/35 and a 10.5 wide wheel? I’m about to order a new setup and want to make sure.

This all depends on the offset of the wheel. There are a lot of 10.5" wide wheels on the market that stick out a lot on the rear of these cars. It will need to be in the neighborhood of ET45-ET50 to not stick out and interfere with the fender.

Bare min of 51 mm required. You will have sidewalls sticking way out if a 45mm offset used.

A 54mm ET would be perfect. A 1.75" rear drop is a bunch. You require the rear tire to be tucked inboard of the fender. Screw up the ET..and you will kick yourself. At least on my 2010 GT. I believe the 05-09 cars are similar. The 10-12 cars all share the same body style.

19x10.5" ET45 sits half a mm further out than 19x11" ET52 which is a proven direct fit in the rear that does not poke at all. A 19x10.5" ET51 would certainly work well, but it's not at all a bare minimum requirement.

Here is 19x11" ET52 on the back of this Boss 302 with a 305/30-19 Pilot Sport 4S

Here is the same wheel as above but this time with a 305/30-19 Cup2 tire on a GT350

Finally, here is a GT500 with 18x11" ET52 wrapped in a 315/30-18 BFG Rival. Not the best angle, but you get the idea :)
